    Glitches??

Hi, I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but I'm having trouble with The sims 2 and with its glitches. The TV's on and there's sound, but its a black screen. Then when it snows and its thick on the ground, when I run the curser over it there's like a circle of ground that's not covered in snow.. Its hard to explain but its one of those little things that really annoys me and since I like to make Sims 2 movies then it makes it really difficult. Then there are bigger glitches where my sims can't preform certain interactions, i.e "lick plate clean" and with children "tickle" (other children.
I have all the expansion packs installed (except the "Sims stuff" ones) and its nothing, or shouldn't be anything to do with my pc. Its brand new, 3070 MBs of RAM, its an "Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E4500 @2.20GHz" a 32-bit operating system and has tons of free space.
I've tried installing the patches but it doesn't seem to help, I know it may seem a minor thing, but its really bothering me. Is there anyway anyone could help? :(
    Thanks

First off the cursor/snow interaction is called "x-ray cursor" ... you can disable that in the game options menu ... it's there to help you find the newspaper etc. when it snows.

As for the TV thing. We need your graphics card card detail. See question 2 in the FAQ Thread - WorldSims Forums

Some interactions always fail. This is common due to Maxis leaving in code for options that do not exist. eg Lick Plate appears for untidy sims, but the option is ignored in various circumstances. (One would imagine that the Maxoids would clean up the code so that impossible menu options do not appear ... but it would be silly and naive to believe that such a perfect state of affairs is every likely to occur. The Sims 3 could be released tomorrow, but the techno-geeks at EA Towers still have many months of work to do before it is crazily screwed up at The Sims and The Sims 2 ... they wouldnae want to break the habit of a lifetime, would they? ;)

For movie making, you might care to search mod the sims 2 for hacks and cheats that enable you to force sims to perform interactions not normally controllable (eg cry, tantrum etc.)

I'll wait for the full information from your trip to the FAQ to help with the TV thing. But right now I have an appointment with a large bowl of pasta ....

Oh okay, well that's the snow bit resolved, I did wonder if it was something that was meant to be there but I couldn't find how to turn it off =/

Then I'm really sorry, but I'm a bit confused, I read the FAQ but I still don't understand which one is my Graphics card.. :s
And yeah glitches are really annoying, but now I remember something I forgot to mention, a much bigger thing and I think it's something to do with the graphics. My sims could be out or it happens when my sim has a baby too, their whole bodies kind of flicker and sometimes it houses and objects too. Its so annoying and I really don't know how to fix it -_-
About the hacks yeah I've already tried them out, messes the game up somewhat sometimes mind you XD
Anyway I hope you enjoy/enjoyed your pasta :D

    Hi there,

I seem to have the same problem with the video. And if you double check you'll see that its not just your TV thats blank but also your computer screen, when playing games...

    Quite annoying isnt it? :(

Well, I hope someone out there can help us solve this issue...

I recommend updating your drivers for the video card, both of you.

To find out what video card you have, go to your Start menu, select Run. Type in DXDIAG and a box will pop up. Click the Display tab and it should tell you the Manufacture and make of your video card.

Go to your manufacture's website (google it) and go to their Drivers/Downloads/Support section. Select your card from the list and download what they offer.

    Okay it says:
    Name: ATI Radeon HD 2400
    and
    Manufacturer: ATI Technologies Inc.
    Approx. Total Memory: 1523 MB
    Current Display Mode: 1440 X 900 (32 bit) (60Hz)..

    I'm not sure if that's it.. =/
The main problem for me is the graphical glitches that are happening..
