Clicking the desktop icon produces NOTHING

I am curious if this could be a drivers problem with my graphics or sound cards but I'm 97% sure I have the latest drivers. So just wondering what I should try next.

I've researched this question alot and most involve error messages upon start up or crashes at start up, but my problem is none of these things. Its simply, the game wont start at all!

I can right click run from the desktop icon or from the DVD tray icon located in My Computer but the results are all the same. The disk icon pops up on the mouse that its thinking, and I can hear the DVD start up and spin but nothing ever happens. when I open th registry to close the application, it doesn't give me any messages about errors in the running, it just quietly closes it like it was running perfectly fine.

    Any suggestions?

I've had this happen in the past. What I've found works is to go to the TS2 folder (in My Documents) and remove the various caches from it. They look like: accessory.cache, cigen.package, ContentRegistry, Groups.cache.

It doesn't hurt your game to remove these. It's like the caches are too full to let the game run for some reason. So it just spins it a bit, then goes back to sleep.
