Have you stopped playing Sims 2? Just wondering has anyone stopped playing Sims 2 since Sims 3 was announced?
I'm still playing! Just because TS3 has been announced doesn't mean I have it so therefore nothing changes. I'm not one of these that looses interest in something I have just because something better may, MAY, be on the horizon. Since no one has played TS3 we don't know if it's any better or not. So I'm still playing TS2 every time I get the chance which here lately hasn't been too often. Ruth
Same here, Ruth. I think that even when Sims 3 comes along, whether I bought it or not, I would still play Sims 2 as it's an awesome game. There are things that Sims 2 has that Sims 3 won't have, such as the independent aging/time aspect due to playing lots one at a time. I actually prefer that over the proposed simultaneous aging aspect to Sims 3. Also, there are things in Sims 2 that I haven't yet experienced in terms of gameplay, and challenges that I haven't yet worked on such as the landscaping of lots. I am determined to use all those downloads too, lol. Too often my sims get stuck with the same few favourite custom hair styles or clothing. I want to step out of my comfort zone and try new things. Even if I play Sims 3, I would still like to think I'll be playing Sims 2 also. I can't see anything yet that would make me stop playing.
I'm still playing. I just got Freetime and haven't had a chance to try everything out, let alone play my usual Sims with it on board. And then there will be Apartment Life...
I definitely still play Sims 2. I did not buy Free Time but I am very excited about Apartment Life. I will have to test out Sims 3 before I stop playing Sims 2...
I'm wondering how apartment life is going to play. If each apartment will be treated as an individual house or each apartment building as a house? It sounds like it could almost be a game in and of itself instead of being an expansion. Will we be able to have more then one family in a building or will it just be one family with some townies like the dorms in uni? Ruth
Oh yes, I'm still playing Sims 2. I have many expansion packs to go too. I'm still not so sure about Sims 3 coming along. Not sure if I need it just yet. x
You know I didn't get TS2 when it first came out either. I'm excited about TS3 for sure but I still have a lot to do on the ep's that I have. Things I still haven't experienced. I feel like I'm just barely scratching the surface, especially on Season's and Freetime. I'm like Scarylodger I'm just not sure I need TS3 yet. Ruth
still playing... but since freetime my game just shuts down after about 1.5-2 hours. waiting patiently for the freetime patch.
I enjoyed the TS3's screenshots I saw so much, the whole idea of walking through the neighbourhood, as the (almost physical) hope for a neighbourhood editor like the one there was in SC4, that when I tried to play TS2 again I couldn't help finding it dmod. So in the days right after TS3 announcement and site launch I basically read and search for reviews and opinions about TS3. Now I'm having a great time again, especially since the announcement of Apartment Life EP... But it's not as if I don't know TS3 is being released and never saw anything. I really would prefer if there wasn't any AL EP and TS3 was released in September (I know how impossible this is, as September 2008 was never a release date for TS3, but that's what I would like anyway). I like moving forward, change, transformation, and I like my TS2 main stories and characters and houses, very very much, and I will surely move forward with all that, but I will be thrilled in the moment I can re-do my characters in the new game, rebuilt my houses, and start again in a totally new environment. I never played TS1 ever again since 2004.
I stopped playing TS2 a while ago, but not because of Sims 3 coming out. I just got bored with having it on my slow computer. Hopefully when I get a new one, I'll get back into the TS2 craze.
Nah, I don't think so. Not yet anyway. I'm not really looking forward to TS3 that much. Maybe I'm just getting bored of the game and that's just it. Or maybe it is because I have a crap computer and have so few EPs installed on it. *shrug* Who knows..
I stopped playing, because it conflicts with my iTunes apparently and crashed my whole computer. I'm being reckless and putting it back on now. However, I have no idea about any EP's or anything anymore, because I'm out of the loop. I can't play OFB anymore becuase my disc is scratched. I've got Uni and Nightlife on my game atm. I don't know whether I can be bothered, or even afford, buying the more recent EP's. TS3.. I don't think I'll buy to be honest. Unless everyone else falls madly totally in love with it, I'm not going to waste my money or something I probably don't have a sensible amount of time to play anymore.
