All of my sims look alike

I have been playing TS2 since its release a few years ago and I have been noticing something odd. All of my female sims look alike. At first I assumed it was because I was making all of my adult sims in the body shop and I figured I was just choosing the characteristics I found most likable. However, I have recently began having my female sims grow up and marry neighborhood sims males that look nothing like what I would normally have my sims marry. Still when they have little female sims they grow up to look much more like their mother than father. Anyway, I feel that this is making my game less interesting because all of my female sims look alike. Has anyone else expericed this or does anyone have any ideas about how I could change this pattern?

Start a family or two with females that look dramatically different. Big noses, little tiny eyes, no chins etc. Make them as ugly as you can stand to look at.

I had this same problem in an old neighborhood that I had before my computer crashed. When I got it back up and running I decided to be sure and incorporate ugly sims into families, both male and female, now there is more variation. I think the longer you play and the more mixed the families become the more they will look alike.

Thanks for that idea. I tried it and have been playing a very unique looking family these last couple of days. So far it has made the game more interesting!

Great! I hope it throws in enough genetic variables to keep it interesting for a while.
