    Got my hopes up..

I'm really not happy at the moment. I've been looking and saving for the Sims 2 for ages now, and today i finally bought it. Got home and installed it all fine on my relatively new laptop, and started to play.

No'1: It is icredibly stupidly slow.

No'2: When i make a family it's quick and works fine... but when i press the tick to actually create them, it freezes and doesn't "respond".

No'3: I haven't actually PLAYED the game at all. Haven't attempted to make a house, because i haven't made a family. I tried playing the Pleasants, and that was fine... just not making my own family. It seems to just stop when it says loading blabla family.

Honestly, i think i'm going to cry! My Sims 1 worked fine on it and it was the Triple Duluxe version... this Sims 2 is Double Duluxe with Nightlife and Celebrations stuff included.

I've uninstalled it twice and reinstalled it 3 times. It's doing my head in!
    Any suggestions?

I've tried deleting all big programs.. like Paint shop Pro and Animation shop. And i deleted the Sims 1 before i installed Sims 2 and i have barely anything on it!

The laptop is a Compaq Presario C700 Notebook PC. Intel (R) Pentium (R) Dual CPU T2330 @ 1.60GHz.
    Memory (RAM:( 1014 MB.

I know it seems sad, but i've spent what seems to be a lot on it and got my hopes up. So any suggestions would be good lol.

    Thank you very much
    Lauren

Also it is Vista. But i don't know whether that has anything to do with it.

I was just wondering whether anything like this would have happened before..

    Thanks
    Lauren.

Since you're running Vista, try disabling Aero before playing Sims 2. Aero tends to be more graphics intensive.
