Dysfunctional Saved Sim I had a Sim I was playing at University and living in one of the dorms. One of the other dormies I wasn't playing died. The Grim Reaper came to take her away and I had my character plead for her life. He won and the dormie was saved. All of a sudden she became a playable character (which I wasn't expecting) but has some limitations. If I click on the bed to have her go to sleep it says no actions are available. She ends up passing out and sleeping on the floor instead. I can command her to cook food but all she does is get the food out to prepare and leave it there. If I click on the food to have her resume cooking I get the no actions are available message again. I can command her to eat food already cooked and that works fine. It is a bit maddening though as my cafeteria lady in the dorm disappeared. She started a fire one day and left in the middle of it and never came back...lol. My original playable Sim has to cook a lot to keep the rest of the dormies alive. Anyway, back to my dysfunctional Sim. Has anyone else ever had this happen? I've saved a couple of dormies from death now and they always come back with the same limitations. I don't think they're zombies, are they? I thought that only happened when you resurrected someone. I apologize if this has been covered before. I ran a search and couldn't find anything about this specific problem.
Do you have any hacks or anything like that in your game? They are supposed to be fully playable once you save them from death and also with your cook leaving like that something sounds broken there. Ruth
I must admit I do have some hacks. It only happens in University so I thought maybe it was related to that. I don't feel like sorting through that stuff either as I'm not much good at the computer geek kind of thing. I was lucky I was able to even figure out how to download the hacks...lol. Now I can't stand to play without them.
Hopefully someone will have a suggestion that will help you figure out which one it is so that you can get it updated or deleted. My only suggestion would be to move your download folder to the desktop and play again to see if that is even the problem. I don't know what hack could be causing the problem so I wouldn't know where to suggest you start looking though honestly since I don't use hacks. Ruthie
By now you've probably already solved your problem...but if you haven't I have an idea. It sounds to me like the dormie is still acting like a dormie...which is a problem because he isnt. Have you ever gone into buy mode while one of the dormies is "sleeping"? They actually just stand there and never use a bed. It seems like the character is still programmed to do that which causes a big problem. I would try moving the dormie into a different dorm or even a rented house. If that doesn't work I have no clue! But it seems that it would be easier than getting rid of your hacks!
