    Graphics problem I haven't seen before - Please help!

    All right. I made an account on this site just for this question and so I could get some help.

    I just got a new laptop - running Vista (it's a Toshiba) - and I installed the Sims 2. It installed perfectly and it starts up perfectly, but when I go to CAS things start to go horribly wrong.

    In any type of clothes - custom content or not - black lines and what seems like odd glitch areas appear instead of them. After a while they seem to fix themselves and I continue on.

    But when I create the family and move into the house, instead of the clothes or hair or hats or anything, those glitch lines and blobs are there again. Sometimes certain parts of the sim just plain disappear. I don't understand what's wrong and I really need help! T-T I want to play so badly.

    I have an ATI video card, and I know it isn't the Vista - I had Vista on my desktop PC and it worked just fine. I just need to know what's wrong. I also have DirectX 10 installed, so I know it isn't that.

    Thanks for your help.

    That's what it ends up looking like, even in gameplay. ;o;

    swmeek I got your benevolent dictator pal!!

    Could you psot a dxdiag of your laptop.
    Most laptop graphics are simply not cut out for gaming unless you invest in a gaming laptop.
    In Windows Vista
    Goto Start > Click the Search Area > Type in DXDIAG > Press Enter.

    I just realized, staring at my last message that my video card isn't one supported. >.> So I went to the ATI site listed and it sent me here (there's a link in the 'here')

    Has anyone tried it? Would it work?

    Nevermind. Disregard this entire thread - I downloaded it and it now works like a charm. Thanks for the help anyway. ^-^
