My wedding date is set – now what? Help! I’m getting married next August and I don’t have my invitations picked out yet. But since it’s summertime and people plan their vacations early, I’m afraid that there will be scheduling conflicts if I don’t get busy. Should I send out “save the date” cards?
First; Congrats!!! How exciting! Do you mean this August 2009? If so yes, I would send out save the date cards about 4-6 months before, because like you said people plan their vacations early. I got married January 2008 and we sent out our save the dates in October 2007. Invites we mailed about 6 weeks before the wedding. For our save the dates we went very simple with them and just did post cards through vistaprint that I designed myself. Vistaprint often has deals where you can get them for free so I ended up paying for uploading my own photo and shipping: less than $10 for 100 then.
