Mod Releases Sims 3 Blur/Censor Removal Patch

I put it in the bin and it doesn't work... what am I doing wrong?

 

i installed it.. cant wait to try it, ill let u guys know if it works.. so the download instructions are in a read me file when it opens or what?
it took me years to figure this patch out for simss2, lol, just want to get it right the first time. thank you guys

Niki simply go to the Sims 3 folder in your program files/Electronic Arts/Sims 3/Game/bin and replace the file in there of the same name with the one in the file you download.

 

It didn't work for me either :(
And yeah I followed the instructions......

 

I cant find this game file

 

Are you able to open the Sims 3 folder at all?
You may have to turn on the hidden files and folders options to see it .
Open my computer, go to the letter designated for your hard drive containing the game files, go to program files, click the Electronics Arts folder and then click Sims 3.
Now click the Game folder, click Bin next, you should see a file marked Shaders Win32.precomp , now right mouse click it and delete it or grab the file in the folder you downloaded it in and drop it in there.
If it doesn't give you a message about wanting to replace it then for some reason it's not in there so just leave the new file in there and it should work.

 

To those having problems installing, keep in mind there are two "bin" folders.

C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin

and

C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin\bin

The second bin folder is inside the first. You need to put this file in the top level Bin folder. If done correctly, you should have to replace the original file. If you were never prompted to replace the original file after dragging the patch to "bin" then you put it in the wrong folder.

 

When I delete the Shaders Win32.precomp file my game won't load. What should I do?

 

You have to replace that file with the one from this patch.

 

It doesn't prompt me and I know that I'm putting it into the right bin....

 

If you can't get it to work try this then.
Go to Mod The Sims and download the TS3 Install Helper by Delphy and install it.
Then download the Sims 3 Censor Patch by Rick and try that one.
Simply put install Delphy's program and open the .rar file and right mouse click the censor removal package and it installs it automatically where it needs to go.

Geez, sorry, this posted 3 different times...ugh....must be Monday....

 

Im sure some of you are running vista. SO you'll need admin rights to replace the original file. If you simply try to extract it to the bin folder you'll get somethin gin the lines of access denied and a few error messages.

So try dragging the file manually into the folder by having the winRar window and folder open at the same time. By dragging you will force the vista cue for allowing admin rights to pop up

 

Download Delphy's install helper program from Mod The Sims and install it and then double click the censor package file and it will install it automatically to the proper place.
