Little help please?? ok, my sister wants to start playing sims2 on her computer, but all her families are on mine. [i will soon delete all the sims2 so i can put sims3] onder: she doesn't want to lose her families. is there anyway or anything i can do to put them on her computer????
You can upload them to the sims 2 exchange. And have her download them in her computer. Or you can still upload them and use a usb flash drive and copy the uploaded families files in your computer to the drive and insert it in your sister's computer and have her install it like she would when downloading from the exchange. But that is a little bit more confusing.
read this page and see if it helps! http://www.sims2wiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Moving_Sims I wouldn't upload them to the exchange as it should be a bit easier to do it just by copying the folders you need from the game.
i think i figured it out... i just hit a button on the game and it copied it to my documents [in the sims 2 lot folder] and i will put it on a usb thing and put it on her computer once she load's all my games. but what folder should i put it in when i go to put it on her computer?? should i put it in downloads???
No whatever folder you copy you will replace in her game. So say you copy over your neighborhoods folder you will replace her neighborhoods folder with that. I'm thinking though that any custom content sims may have to have the same custom content in her game as well.
Install the game on your sister's computer. On your computer copy the entire My Documents, EA Games folder to a USB drive. Then put this folder in your sister's My Documents folder on her computer.
ohh isn't there another way?? her house and family is in he packaged lot folder in my documents under sims2.... could i just replace the packaged lot folder????
You can package the lots which have her family and then copy them to a thumb drive. Put the thumb drive in the other computer and then double click on the package. She can then find them in her Sim Bin so that she can play with them without erasing what she has on the new computer already. Of course, they will have to redo their relationships with Sims who are outside the house.
