sims 3 crashing you know, I'm getting really tired of this. I love the Sims 3 from what I've managed to do with it so far, which is not much. I was able to build my house, create my sim and just start to make her learn new skills, and visit a community lot once. All in all I've played the game 4 times. Then the crashing began. The comp crashed and restarted-asking me if I wanted to start up in safe mode. I loaded up the game again and within 5 minutes it crashed again. I played the game again today, and got within 10 minutes-same thing. I have Windows Vista premium, its a new computer (6 months) it has a huge hardrive and way more than enough memory. I have 449GB available. The comp comes has 4.00 gb memory. Its a Lenovo. The game runs smoothly and runs very fast, it takes like 15 secs to load and save. Also I'm pretty sure I have the latest version of Direct X, I dont remember but I know with The sims2, if anything needed upgrading it would do so during installing the game. The only problem I can think of is something to do with the video card, which I admittedly know next to nothing about. Any help would be much appreciated, heres my specs side by side with the sims 3 reqs.
Instead of providing that screenshot, would you please post up a dxdiag report instead? It gives us a comprehensive overview of your PC. Plus it might solve your roofing issue.

Goto Start > Under Quick Search, type in dxdiag. Press enter. Click Save All Information. Then upload the text document as an attachment here.
Ok, I tried the game for 40 minutes yesterday and it worked! I managed to send my sim to a cooking class and visit with a neighbor then return home. I had to shut the game off because it was late. But I'm hopeful. What a drastic improvement. Thank you so much Josh and Flameback. I appreciate the patience and suggestions very much. We'll see how things go.
