Please help!!! Ok, I install Spore at the library on my thumbdrive (8GB). I don't install the next thing and DirectX just goes on the computer itself. Well when I start playing once it's installed on my thumbDrive it's fine and I save the creature and progess and leave. But the next time I come to the library and plug my thumbdrive in and click the Spore game icon, it says "This application has failed to start because d3dx9_27.dll was not found." And it says re-installing might help. I do it and it plays but my creature and progress isn't there because it saves it on the computer documents the first time so it isn't on my thumbdrive next time.(Could I maybe copy the file on the documents onto my thumbdrive?) Tell me how I can play SPORE at the library and have my saved creature and progress to continue playing. PLEASE HELP!!!:(
I doubt you can, the library probably has a script to wipe the computers every night and reload Windows. Spore isn't designed to be a portable app.
So all I can do is just keep playing the start of the game until I get a computer of my own? (I edited my post above if re-reading some of it might help.) (Why can't they make personnal accounts at the library so it saves the stuff you do for next time?) Is there another place on the computer that saves stuff I need to play next time? And how can I get d3dx9_27.dll so I can play without having to re-install?
For the .dll try downloading this: http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?d3dx9_27 It needs to be put in C:\Windows\System32\ directory. This may get wiped each night however. Spore stores your planets and creatures in Documents\My Spore Creations and the Appdata folder accessible from the Start > Run command and then typing %appdata% Look for the SPORE folder, you may have to go into the Roaming folder and copy that to a USB or something, replace it next time you go to the library.
Oh S*** I need serous help! Now when I install it it says that "For security reasons, only a limited number of machines can ever be licensed by a single purchase. This limit has been reached. Please purchase another registration code, reinstall, and then try again." I don't want to pay more **** money! WHAT SHOULD I DO! (paying for another registration code is S-T-U-P-I-D!!!(
If you have it registered with your name and email address I would go and run the deactivation process on it. Then try and reinstall it again.
When the game is reinstalled it is activating itself on the internet each time. After so many activations, I think it was 5 at last count, you have to deactivate copies you are not using. I think EA released a program that had to be installed to do this and if so, then you will have to contact EA as the computer will only have 1 activation running and the others lost.
