Sims3 Installation Problems I am having a problem installing Sims3. My son tried installing it last night and it never seemed to complete. It said it was missing something. He can't remember what exactly it said. He returned the CD for a new one, thinking it was a problem with the installation disk. We now have the new CD and when we try to install, it tries to uninstall. We went ahead and uninstalled, in hopes that we could then turn around and reinstall. No such luck. Please help. I have attached the file that gives information on our system. I think our processor may be too slow. Can you confirm what the issue may be? Thanks in advance for your help. Your processor shouldn't stop it from installing even if it isn't a very good one. When you uninstall you may have to manually remove the files from the C:/program files/electronic arts/Sims 3 folder. If you're still at the stage where it's uninstalled look and see if those files are still there and delete that folder. You may need to go in and remove the registry files as well. This page (although set for Sims 2) will give you a pretty good idea how to do it. http://www.sims2wiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Uninstall For some reason it won't uninstall everything like it should. If you do it get it going don't expect the best looking game as you're limited by the cpu and the integrated Intel chipset you're stuck with . When you have an integrated chipset like what you have the cpu has to work even harder than normal and the Celeron cpu is about good for business applications only let alone gaming. I would suggest you upgrade to the latest video drivers from your laptop's support site before you try installing again.
