I didn't get turkey for Thanksgiving itself. We went to a friend's house and she had fixed a pork roast. (Definitely not Jewish!). But I had a free turkey and I fixed that on Friday (and made turkey broth with the bones the next day. Got 4 quarts and a bit! It will make nice soup later.) The cheap pumpkin pies have been giving us our "vegetables" (as pumpkin is a squash, you know!)
i had regular turkey plus some wild turkey that my brother had fixed, turkey and dumplings, venison, fried turtle and crappie fillets for Thanksgiving dinner. Hardly conventional at all but darned tasty!
