Help needed creating a new object. Is it possible?

    Hi there.

I've never created an object before, but I have an idea for one that I think would be cool, but I have no idea if it is possible.

I am interested in creating a Sim DDR machine. It would need to access songs from the songs folder somehow, be 4 panels large (2 for machine, 1 for each player), possibly based on the Dance Floor from house party. New animations for Sim Movement would need to be created, such as them hitting the panels. Also, different difficulty levels would need to be created, dependant on ... say, Body skill. 1 point = level 1 songs, 6 points = level 6 songs, etc. Group activity, 2 sims on the machine, and then those watching. Those watching would do a comparison check on their body skill level, if it was equal or less, reaction would be positive, if greater reaction would be negative.

I currently have a 3d model of a DDR machine to work with, and lots of step charts. So, the big question, can this be done?

    -Bob.

Sounds very cool Bob. I haven't the faintest idea if it can be done or not - but I like the idea. :classic:

Wow!! Um... Well, I've been told to do stuff like needing new interactions I would have to modify the .iff files, but I haven't learned how to do that yet. I think RentechD knows how to do stuff like that, she's working on a working washer-dryer. You MIGHT be able to get sort of a simulated version of it cloning from the sims house party dance floor or maybe the dance cages?? But to do everything you want would take hacked objects know-how. I wish I knew how to do it!!! Good luck, and post and tell me if you find out how to learn to do it!!

Though I wouldn't know how to go about making one myself, you might try asking Admiral Kyle at www.savagesims.com for help, as he made one a couple months ago. Good luck! :)
