Sims Expansion Wish List I've been enjoying The Sims a bit, as I'm helping my younger brother get started, and keep his Sims alive.. but I've found that the game gets fairly tedious after only an hour or two... Even with most of the expansion packs. So, I was thinking of a few things that The Sims really need, to make gameplay more fun, and I think that they should have a new Expansion Pack for Musicians. While there are guitars and pianos in Livin' Large, you cannot really do much with them. I've noticed pictures of bands in The Sims: Online, but I think an expansion purely for musicians would be great. I don't know if this has been discussed, but here are a few ideas I had. 1. Various Musical Styles. Rock, Punk, Boy Band, Rap, Country, Orchestral, Choral, Techno, etc. A different band type for every musical taste. 2. Rehearsals. Either practice at home, or rent a garage/lot, or a studio. The more you rehearse, the more money you can make, and the more songs you can do. Or something. Each song could have a rehearsal progress bar.. 3. Band Members. Either have your whole family as a band, or put find new members on Computers/Newspapers. A great way to make new friends. 4. Shows. Put on a few Club shows, playing for 10-20 sims. Make some money, spread the word about your band. Eventually, get up to huge Stadium shows, playing for thousands of sims. 5. Record. Scrape together enough money to record a demo disk. Sell a few at club shows. Eventually get enough money/fame to get a big producer to record a major album, bringing in tons of cash. 6. Choreograph Hot Keys. This would be a cool idea. Basically, you could have a number of different poses/dance moves, each with a hot key. For example, a Rock guitarist might have a guitar solo move, where he leans back and rips at his guitar. The hotkey for this sim might be 1, or 2, etc. A boy band might do a twirl, a Rap star might grab his crotch. Who knows? It's up to you. The more convincing/fun your routine is, the more your fans will love you, the more fame you'll have. Maybe you can even save your routines, so that the Sims automatically do them each concert. 7. Music. Use your own MP3's to perform, or maybe Maxis could include some of their own. If you've got your own band, use your own music. Then you can upload your bands on The Sims site, or something. Share and swap bands. Get 3-4 bands together, and throw a huge Simfest. 8. New Objects. Well, of course you'll need new objects, like every other expansion. How about New Guitars, Bass', Drums, Huge Amps, Flashing Lights, maybe some Fire Shooters, that you can set off at certain parts of the song? Also, maybe a Banner maker, that lets you type in your band name, customize the color/text, so you can hang them around at your concerts. These are just some ideas I was thinking of. Tell me what you think. Drop some suggestions. Maybe if we get enough interest, Maxis' release this after Online. I hope so, because this would sure replenish my interest in the series.
Err, reading a few more previews of The Sims: Online, I noticed they have some choreographed dance moves. I was not aware of that. Heh heh. I think the only choreographed moves I've seen, however, are for the dance floors... nothing like a Sim jumping into the air with his guitar, or headbanging, or going down on his knees and ripping at his guitar. Hehe. That's what I want.
Just The Sims. It would just be like Livin' Large, or Unleashed, etc. Just another Sims game. I can't afford to pay the money for The Sims Online just yet, since I'm full time schooling. I just don't want them to desert The Sims as soon as TSO comes. Give me my band, and I'll play with it. Heh.
ah ic. Though probably the next evolution of The Sims is SimCity 4, where your sims have life in the SimCity 4.
Yeah, but I highly doubt that they're going to stop pumping out The Sims expansions, since they're instant money makers. I for one would go out and buy this game if it were ever released. Eh. But I'm just dreaming.
I don't think it is possible Kaylee..cause they created the game therefore they could argue he could never have had the idea in the first place unless their game came first.
I would have fun playing with a sims Music expansion pack like you've come up with!! A lot of the things you could do now... sort of... Like there are rockets... and the sims DO change poses while playing guitar... People have made drum sets from cloning the piano... but it would be cool to have drums make drum SOUNDS instead of piano sound!
