    Swedish Dogs

Crufts has gone international. We watched it on tv. There was a Swedish dog that won something or another, and a French dog that won something else. I can't remember what - my wife would probablyknow. I think it is a great thing that it has gone international. The more we can get to know about each other the better. Then we find that we are all very much the same.

That is so true Philip. Even though we may be on the opposite sides of the world from each other, we are all human and experience the same types of things and have the simular feelings and reactions to things.

Yes that's true Philip. before for entring Crofts the dog had to be in Quaranteen for 3 months ahead. And that's not the way to get them into shape for a show really. :classic:
I'm happy to hear about this now. it was really on time. Give my best to your wife. :classic:
Just curious what breed was the swedish dog?. :classic:

Nina - it was a big breed I think - something along the lines of an Elk Hound, but not one.
Tell me, do you ever go sledge or whatever they call it racing. There is a sport in England where people have dogs to pull wheeled cars through the forests. Apparently they can get up quite a speed and I am told it is very exciting. I would have thought you have more snow in Sweden and maybe you are into these things?
I would love to go to Sweden one day, but, at present, my eldest dog forbids that. She is 18 and a half and she can only just put one foot in front of the other. (Sometimes the feet go sideways).

Fae: I could (possibly) send a copy to you of the most amazing thing I think I have ever seen. A dog dancing. Yes, really. It was a demonstration at Cruffs where a women dressed as a matador and a border collier danced with her in time to music. The footwork and the obedience of the collier was absolutely amazing. If you like I could work out how to do a copy and send it to you, if you really want it.

Nina: I am sorry - how could I leave you out. The same thing goes for you as goes for Fae, if you want me to send you a copy of the dance. I don't think that I can get it onto the computer to send it. No doubt if I had more technical ability I might work out how to do that. The only way I can send it to you, I think, is to send it on a copy tape.

Nina: The Swedish dog was a flat coated black retriever and he won the best gun dog as well as best of breed.

WOW a dog dancing with footwork and everything?! I don't know how I would be able to get a tape but maybe I'll try doing a search for it because it seems like SOMEONE somewhere would put it up on the internet by now! :D
