The war has caused a lot of economic problems throughout the world...Singapore is recovering and the prospect of war will put us into recession again

    I don't want a war either...
I think that Bush only wants to go to Iraq and have his war cause of what his dad coulden't finish in the Gulfwar (s?)
Saddam ... maybye he can be dangerous, but war is the last solution...
Like Tecnofreak sad: there is alwas a better solution than blowing up the people

I've stated my feelings and thoughts about this at Alturas forums. If anyone really wants to now, I can give them the link. I don't have energy to repeat it all here, but basically. I'm anti-war. This is based on prestige and revenge, not what's best for people and the world. Why I think that is a pretty long thing to explain. There is a saying:

    "Violence breeds violence."

I believe that's true. You can say whatever you want about the 60's and the hippies. But they had one thing they believed in: Peace. So do I.

I believe if there is a peaceful solution, it should be used. Wars bring on heartache and hardships to all involved, and you never really recover from them. Peace is the way to go.

not to be cruel or anything but still, think about the build up of forces in the East, do you really trully think Bush will back down from Sadam if he does disarm? (and if you don't think this whole thing has an economic effect, check your gas prices, bit high?)

The means (money) Iraq got to build up their weapons actually comes from US in the first place. From the deals they made with Saddam in the 80's. I can get hold of a photo of Rumsfeld and the president shaking Saddams hand if you want proof. It's from 1983. The deal was made to help Iraq against Iran. And what harm has the children in Iraq done? Smart bombs doesn't exist. A bomb can't see the difference between people.

Also you should remember that many of these people doesn't care if they get killed or not. The enemy is doing this so they will go straight to heaven. (a much too simple explanation, but anyway.) For the muslim world Iraqian people will be considered heroes, not villains.

Saddam doesn't have that good reputation at all within the muslim world. With war the chances are bigger that Saddam will get more support instead. In other words. To bomb iraq is exactly what people ike Saddam needs. Then he can say US is the villain and get support for that.

Hasn't enough people died already? Hasn't enough children suffered? They are human too. And what will US gain with a war? Nothing really. The world outside are against this war.

Everywhere I go - all I hear is that US are villains here. Bush is as "popular" as bin Laden in other parts of the world. And Usama is REALLY considered as a terrorist. There are numerous protest actions around the world against this war. From the beginning Bush had support for getting the real criminals, not anymore. He's gone beyond a decent point the rest of the worlds people consider right.

Bush isn't quite as popular here as he would like to think...if he goes through with this he will most certianly be very low in support. and I belive you Nina, however, now we(the United States) support Iran, i think, alls i know is they have American weaponry in exchange for oil and things like that. also another point to consider:
Durring the cold war the Russians produced 20 + tons of the chemical/bacteria Anthrax and other harmful chemicals. After the cold war the Russians "lost" some of their stockpile. It is belived that te Iraqies have aquired these chemicals and plan to use them on the United states and Allied troops if they invade Iraq. Also, there have been reports of Sadam placing explosives on oil fields and a rummor of him "linning Bagdad with a ring of oil to confuse bombs and troops".
Also with the even that Bush does decide to goto war, which seems like it may be in the near future, it could result in a much larger scale of war then we expected. As well as the threat of Sadam we also have the North Koreans who have ben apparently aquiring nuclear weapons before the Us ship "caught" the tanker carrying one. They recently brought their nuclear power reactor back online. They also wish to bring their Uranium converter back online which would bring them one step closer to being able to produce nuclear weapons that they don't already have.
Now, i'm sure theres quite a number of errors but this is what i've heard and would like to share it, i also have something else...but thats for another post...

Yes Tim. That's probably true about the Koreans nuclear powers. I don't know about that, so I wont go into it.
Russia is a mafiacountry today. I live enough close to them to know about it. How come when Russia let go and changed into "democracy" is another debate. nevertheless. US produced as much bombs and stuff as Russia, probably a lot more.

I also know that about half of the american people are against this war too. But it's the same idiotic phenomena here. Get others to belive that.

    *sighes deeply*

And in the 80's US supported Iraq... Politicians... Yikes... I don't like any of them. No matter what country.

i personally think war should be avioded, only as a last resort.
i think George B just wants face value and clearing up his dad's unfinished business. he's just so full of s**t. (no offence)
let's all pray for world peace as many lives would be lost if a war should ever occur.

i agree, no war. sure, the economy may go up.. but what about the brave men and women stationed outside iraq? i've heard that bush and iraqee people (not all of them granted) want the current iraq government over thrown, but there are ways of doin it then sending troops. Hawaii was taken over without militiary force (as far as i know) so i imagine Saddam can too.

    What I believe,

Here is what i think, this is my oppion if you do not agree that is fine, but this is what i believe.

The War on Iraq: Alot of you have been saying how terrible it is that we may goto war. But when there are people out there from Saddam's country that want to attack the US. And kill thousands of people..why cant we go after one and stop.

The Us: is not attacking innocent people. And alot of you said that Bush just wants do cause war..but can you imaging Gore being presidnt right now?

Gore: how do you think HE would have handeled 9/11? Afterwards he probally just would have been quite about the whole thing. Bush is doing a great job. His job is to protect the citicens of the USA.

    Stop US hating!
    haha

    Bryan.
It is NOT the country that's bad. It's still individuals and there are other ways than war. Saddam is bad - yes . Even a big part of islam thinks so. But Bush isn't a sweetheart either. He was on the right track from the beginning. Blair is a crazy one too it seems. In fact I think everyone in a leading position that is peptalking for war is crazy.
But I do respect you for your viewpoint Bryan. And there's no reason to "kill" someone because of it. :classic:
