AMANDA & CHRIS ELIMINATED IN VENICE VENICE, ITALY. On the second leg of the Race, Teams raced out of the snow-capped peaks of Italy's Dolomite Mountains down into the narrow canals of Venice. After snow-rafting down a mountain at terrific speeds, the Teams gathered at a train station, where Chip & Reichen, still steamed about a line-jumping stunt Steve & Josh had pulled in Los Angeles, bullied their way to the front of the line and held the first-place position in front of the door to the closed station. The other Teams were furious, but Chip & Reichen decided that turnabout was, indeed, fair play! Along the route to Venice, tensions began heating up again between last-placed models and friends Tian & Jaree, who argued furiously over how much weight to carry in their bags. Still hobbled by an unfortunate injury on the mountaintop, air traffic controllers Steve & Dave mustered every fiber of strength to power into Venice, but decided that taking the Fast Forward would be their best bet, allowing them to bypass the remaining challenges and slam into first place. Meanwhile, the other Teams struggled in a dimly lit palace filled with masqueraders, where dating couple Amanda & Chris found nothing but desperation as Chris struggled in vain to find one costumed celebrant in particular, while the other Teams whizzed by. The couple raced against NFL wives and moms Monica & Sheree in a tight footrace through the maze of Venetian streets. The NFL wives squeaked by with a narrow victory as the tearful South Dakota dating couple Amanda & Chris became the second Team to be eliminated from THE AMAZING RACE.
