    Don't buy new Pepsi can.

Pepsi has a new "patriotic" can coming out with pictures of the Empire State Bldg. and the Pledge of Allegiance on them. But, Pepsi left out two little words on the pledge, "Under God." Pepsi said they did not want to offend anyone. If this is true then we do not want to offend anyone at the Pepsi corporate office. If we do not buy any Pepsi product then they will not receive any of our monies. Our money after all does have the words "Under God" on it.

Please pass this word to everyone you know--let your voices be heard. We want the words "Under God" to be read by every person Who buys a can.

Okay, this is just getting pathetic. They seem to be removing a lot of things that have any reference of God in them, because it might "offend" people.

I'd say more but I know that I'd get angry and I don't want to say something I know I'd regret. :)

Right, do what you want. It's totally your right to boycott Pepsi for doing that, but I coulnd't care less. I'll reserve to keep my mouth shut just like Snake did too until I see more from this thread.

It all depends upon what you mean by God. To a muslim it is one thing; to a Hindu something else and to a christian?
We no doubt all hold our individual views on what is God and long may it be so - at least until the contrary (whatever it is) is proved - if it ever is.

True Philip but the only people offended by the word "God" whatever their connotation of it is the atheistics who, like Madeline Murray O'hare, seem to have a rabid dislike of the word...What I'd like to ask them is, "If He doesn't exist and matter as you are always claiming, then why do you guys make such a big deal out of seeing His name anywhere?" As Shakespeare once said, "Me thinks the lady doth protest too much!" As for Pepsi leaving the words "under God" off the can, they are being foolish and offending the 80% who believe in the concept of God (regardless of their connotation) and appeasing the 20% (probably less) who actually dislike the term and want it ignored...

I think pepsi just didn't want to lose customers that would be offended. It all boils down to money. I doubt pepsi could care less about our feelings.

I don't think its a huge deal. I mean, if PEPSI had left God on, people would have been on their case. If they leave it out, people will be on their case. It's a no-win situation, so it's not like they did it to purposely leave God out.

i think they just shouldn't have made a "patriotic" can b/c there is no way to impress the media or the public because if u do the right thing your a wimp, if u do the wrong thing your a jerk, so there really is no way to win almost ny1's appreciation these days!!

Dont. Buy. Pepsi. If. The. Mere. Can. Angers. You. So. Much.

There's a gazillion other brands of sodas out there, drink those. People get offended very easily nowadays. How is a world-wide cooperation supposed to care about EVERYONE's feelings? Did the original makers of Pepsi do it for the sake of people's feelings or to quench their thirst (that's Sprite, I know)? Do the Jews get offended by the Christmas versions of Coke cans featuring Santa? Complain about something worth-while will ya? If Pepsi was really just looking at the dough, then they'll surely change the design or add the words "Under God" back onto their cans once their sales figures drop like flies.

"Please pass this word to everyone you know--let your voices be heard. We want the words "Under God" to be read by every person Who buys a can."

You do, do you? How about "I dont care."? True, our bills DO have the phrase imprinted on them, but that's the government's choosing, not mine. I couldnt care less either way. As long as the beverage doesnt change.

"Okay, this is just getting pathetic. They seem to be removing a lot of things that have any reference of God in them, because it might "offend" people."

From what I'm seeing here, the only people who are offended are the ones who DO want the words back on the can. I for one couldnt care less about whatever they could dream of putting on there. Hung up about as trivial a matter as two little words... *sigh*

Is anyone aware that Madeline O'hare embraced Christ before the end of her life?

Actually Suite...I heard that was one of those myths that circulate the web just like Charles Darwin was supposed to have recanted of his ideas of evolution at his death... I really don't know, but she did have a sad end being murdered by an ex-employee.

And Oink, yes it is maybe a trivial two words but it is the underlying principle that is worrying many people...Both our countries were founded on Christian principles but it seems both are abandoning any thought of Deity in recent years and that seems rather sad... You even said that you didn't care what the cans say and I'm sure that's most people's response which is why I said why did Pepsi take off those words if no one really cares?

I actually agree with Oink in a way. Now a days people will complain about anything even if they can avoid it. They'll complain about the street lights being out when the road they travel on has stopsigns, or people will complain about a smilie face that u see in a chat room offensive but they use it anyway. If u are going to get angered by something rather miniscule that u know no one is going to change i think that it is pointless. The only way to make a difference is if u get everyone in the world to boycott Pepsi and it is not that serious.
