So you mean this game Does have a set lifespan, but it can easily be bypassed by going back in time and playing the same time period over and over again? Alright, I guess I'll take whatever I can get. I didnt expect the game to be eternal anyways, because most games arent unless they get constant updates and patches. So now I have yet more questions. What about the year, month, week, day, holiday, season specific events? I mean once you're thru playing most of them there's not many reasons for you to go back and repeat them over and over again right? If the events are non-repeatable or are just not worth playing over again, then there's always the mundane daily tasks to complete to elongate the game correct? Also, how many different sets of dialogues do the NPC's have? That means have you ever heard an NPC saying something that he's already said before, and have you ever seen an NPC do something he's already done before? That's it for questions now I guess. There's bound to be more to come so please bear with me here.
Let's see... there are events that are date specific, like the raffle on the last day of each month, and the holidays, and Sow Joan selling her turnips every Sunday so you can play the stalk market, and KK Slider playing his guitar at the train station Saturday nights... but there are also a lot of other little random events: a seagull named Gulliver washes up on the beach every now and then, not really once a week but several times a month; if you take the train to another town you might see a cat with no face, and get to draw her face, and then she shows up in your town randomly wandering around with the face you drew; a fashion designer shows up several times a month and so does a walrus you get rare wallpaper from, and a camel you get rare carpets from, and a fortune telling cat. For dialogue, I hear the characters say the same things a lot, but that's partly because I chat with them like mad because often they'll give me stuff or trade with me. What they say changes with the seasons, the weather, and what visitor might be about to visit your town. November, for instance, there is a Fishing Tourney, and all through the month the animals talk a lot about fishing tips, and the tourney. Now that I'm playing through December there's no more talk about the fishing tourney. Now they've gone on to talking about making snowmen, and how great igloos are, and bundle up so you don't catch cold, and there's some mysterious visitor coming on the 24th! With daily stuff like running all over town digging up fossils and looking for the glowing spot to dig up money, and the random rock that gives you money when you hit it, and checking the dump and police station for items I can take, and checking your mail etc. just that keeps you pretty busy if you try to do it all. Then there is fishing, bug catching, planting and harvesting fruit trees, going around shaking trees in case money falls out... fleeing from the bees when a hornet's nest falls out instead.... It's an exciting little life if you like that sort of thing! Plus there's all the rearranging furniture and redecorating your house.... I don't think I've managed to do ALL of "everything" in one day yet!
I can think of one good reason of time traveling to holidays that you have already witnessed hehe. If you were to go back to see Jingle over and over again and collect the stuff he gives yiu, you can make a TON of bells. thats always helpful. I never visit Joan anymore. Ever since I obtained the turnip code I have had no reason to actually BUY the turnips hehe. Which do you prefer Fae, fishing or bug catching? I prefer fishing myself.
Yeah, I have a huge weakness for the fishing... I'll run back and forth at my fishing spots for the fish "shadows" to come back so I can just keep catching them around the same spot instead of wandering up and down the beach. I started throwing back all the sea bass and just keeping the 3,000 and 5,000 bell fish to sell to Nook and when I did that for my little "fishing trips" I would sell them all at around 30,000-50,000 bells per trip back to Nooks. I LIKE that! I've never tried the turnip code, I haven't been really playing the stalk market anyway after I bought the first batch, forgot, time traveled back... and they all spoiled. I DO plant 30,000 bell bags in the shiny spots I dig up when they're in a good place for the tree to grow, not too close to other stuff... I learned the hard way not to plant the money bag when the spot was too close to the cliff, beach, signpost, etc.
hehe i cant do the money some1 else here might steal it. as for the turnips....i talk to nook see how much they worth to decide if its worth the code. if he's buying for over 100 bells per turnip then it is very good since you get 100 turnips from code hehe
That sounds like a lot of fun, but aLL of that happens in real life time right? No more taking 2 hours hours in-game just to walk from one end of the town to the other I hope. And uh, Fae? Isnt looking for items you can "take" at the dump and the police station, digging up holes wherever you see fit (which reminds me of a very funny thing you can do in SW:G, but that's another game and another story), shaking down trees, drawing faces on faceless (creepy!) cats, finding washed up seagulls and so on called lunatic vagrancy?
lol oink. And yes you do it all in real life time. I spend at least half hour playing the game just cause...I can run through the whole town in maybe....5 minutes if I'm running.
Hmmm, sounds like a very small town. Well in that case, how many houses and streets are there in your town? Does it grow as the years go on, and is it affected in a grand way by player interaction? How exactly (gimme details) does travelling to another town, be it on the same memory card or another one, work?
there techinacally arent streets. there are 4 houses/saves for you to use. There can be up to 15 other houses and the neighbors move in and out. It starts off with i dunno maybe 5 neighbors and as time goes on more come. If you visit a town a person form your town may move there and/or one form the other town myay move to your town. In order to travel to another town, You must ahve another memory card. It does not have to have its own town on it but it can. There only has to be enough room for "Traveling Data"
You have to find this lady animal on weekends only, and you can't just ask the cops where she is going to be either; you have to go look for her yourself. I don't remember the name so maybe the other posters can help you with that. You need another memory card to travel? I thought you can have more than one town on a memory card and that you can travel between them... Just how many towns does a normal (8mb is it?) memory card allow? So basically what I'm asking is: "Is it possible to travel when you have access to only one memory card?"
You buy turnips from Sow Joan, she shows up every Sunday to sell her turnips, and then you wait and sell the back to Tom Nook hoping the prices has gone UP and you make money instead of losing money. The game will only let you save ONE town per memory card, so no, it's not possible to travel to another town if you only have one memory card. That's the situation I'm in right now, I want to save for another memory card!
Oooh, ok then. How big is that AC memory card? It's a regular 8mb(?) mem card right? I heard there's a bigger one, how many mbs is that one and how much do both of them cost?
the ac memory card is the small one. i never been by mb. the larger one holds like....alot more lol so you can have something OTHER than a town on it. actually you could prolly have ALOT more then the town. lol. We have 2 big memory cards and the ac's little one ^.^
Maybe I'll try making a town on the bigger memory card we got to save other games on then... but I still couldn't make multiple towns on the one big card. I think that's what he was hoping was possible, I know I was hoping that at first!!
hehe i wish you could but hey since you can't thats y i bought a big memory card and also used my brothers. cept now he wont let us travel since we made one of his favoritve grumpy mean characters move to one of our other towns lol
I'm corrupting my sister in law into playing Animal Crossing with me RIGHT THIS MINUTE!! haha... But I still haven't made a second town on my bigger memory card we got for saving other game data on.
A town takes up the whole AC memory card huh? Makes sense since Nintendo would be supplying free memory cards otherwise.
One of my friends freaked out when I told her she could have as many Animal Crossing towns as she had Memory Cards... so now she's got a bunch of memory cards JUST for Animal Crossing towns! I don't know how many towns she has by now....
