For Christmas what I mostly DID was deal with my sinus infection! :p We also juggled spending time with friends, friends from out of town, my hubby's family, my family, my brother and his wife coming in unannounced from Florida, and my brother's in-laws' family. Most of the time we weren't running around visiting people I ended up staying in my jammies at home sleeping or reading or on the computer. The Christmas season isn't over for me yet though because there are still friends we need to visit and get their gifts to them, and New Years kind of runs together as the end of the holiday for me. :D

We decided to make a couple of Christmas Traditions of our own, so we shared a Pomegranite before bedtime Christmas Eve. sitting on the couch crashing as we watched our un-decorated half a christmas tree.. we were tired enough it SEEMED to sparkle with lights... And then I wanted to make it a tradition to make french toast using raisin bread and eggnogg and that turned out REALLY YUMMY so I think we'll try it again next year... after all I think it takes a couple of years to count as a "tradition." ;)

    Bookworm42 Oh No! Bathtime!

LOL Fae...our usual Christmas routine had to be put on hold as we had to head over to the relatives at noon this year so we only had time to open our presents then had get ready for the turkey blowout at the in-laws.

I like it best when we get together with the relatives on either the 24th or 26th and have Christmas day to relax with hubby and our kids and open presents and enjoy our traditional "high fat" Christmas breakfast of pancakes or waffles, eggs, toast, juice, etc. then have our own turkey blowout dinner at night.

I find that one can get stressed out with too much time spent with an extended family as most of them are people that you only see at Christmas time and there is good reason why that is all you see of them...remember the movie "Home for the Holidays"? Like the old expression states, "You can pick your friends, not your relatives." Don't get me wrong, I love my family but I can't stand being around most of them for an extended period of time as we are all so very different in our taste and opinions...

haha simzer! Well if that's what you did I hope you enjoyed it! :p

I like your plan of having the 25th for your own family to have a day!! I wonder if I can pull off that excuse when we don't have kids yet... hmm.... seems like I'll have a better chance with that in the future.... ;) Relaxing would have been nice to schedule in there somewhere... :D

In Sweden we celebrate on Christmas Eve. Was at home with paul and my friend Edita and her 2 dogs. We had a very nice and pleasant evening together.

Tonight's New Years eve and I know we will have another great evening together.

    alapokeygirl Very much in LOVE

I cooked, served dinner, then put it all away and cleaned everything up. I then went to bed early and cried myself to sleep, again.

Yes, Christmas came charging at me full speed ahead, ran me over, and ran off... it seems like it comes up faster and faster every year and then I feel like I'm not sure it really happened afterwards. Does anyone else feel like this?

I went to the relatives house, visited, ate and played their X-Box.

Needless to say the X- Box was the highlight of the visit. (I'm not that close to my relatives and can't really stand the ignorant kids.)

And what'd you play? You better have played some dang good games to justify doing it on the Xbox. Needless to say I still hate the danged thing with a passion.

We played the console version of the sims while visiting relatives, I think it was on the x-box or PS2... I still don't do well identifying gaming systems by the controllers... :p We have the x-box at home now as it's all for my hubby. Why do you hate the x-box Oink?

I better not go on a ranting spree about that. Just know that my hate isnt caused by severe fanboy-ism (where you blindly worships a single game, system, book, whatever), but is based on very true and good reasons.
