Move Outs and Personal Items At the FAQ on thesims.com it asked how will move outs occur. Its answer was that the sim leaving would take everything they own and put it in thier new house. If there is one big mixing pot of money where each sim doesn't have thier own money how will sims own items if the whole household purchased it? Does anyone know?
The way they put it made me wonder about that too... does this mean now when you go into Buy mode you'll get to choose which sim is buying which object? Or maybe it's only personal reward objects they take with them, like in Makin Magic my cat character who was turned into a human had her cat collar and booby prize trophy with her when she married and moved in with my bachelor sim. Maybe the game keeps track of their share of the earned money too? Does anyone else know more information from FAQs or reliable sources about how this will work?
Well, it has been said that each Sim will have their own inventory. So I think that if Sim A buys a couch and Sim B buys a chair the same day and they live together, the couch will show up in Sim A's inventory, even though it will be in the house, and the same with Sim B, so that if Sim B moves out, it will automatically send the chair along. Does that make any sense? ;0)
That makes perfect sense to me Lola, I'm just adjusting to the idea that we'd have to pick a sim to control while shopping in "Buy" mode, we haven't had it work that way in the sims 1 game, but Sims Online works that way. I'm used to going into Buy Mode and spending money as a family/household and I can't have one sim actually buy an object in buy mode, only when shopping within the game, like Downtown on Hot Date, or Magic Town in Makin Magic. I'll probably be curious and confused about how it will work in sims 2 till it comes out and I'm actually getting to play it, haha!
Well I think that if "he" moves out "she" should be able to keep all the stuff... especially if "she" didn't work outside the home....
This whole concept is confusing to me... I think that maybe once you familiarize a certain Sim with his/her room, like have them sleep in the same bed for a couple of nights, that's how some ownsership may occur. But I kind of wish each sim could have their own pot of money. That would make the game so much more complex and fun! Not that it won't be fun to begin with!... ahhh!! *faints*
Move outs! Yeah, it's absolutely killing me to have to wait for TS2! Its got me so curious and excited that i can hardly stand it! It's going to be super fun to see all the ways that they think of to change TS1 characters and gameplay. I hope that they have somehow made it so that the sims will be able to "take ownership" or certain items, but i think it would be to confusing if Person A owned the table and Person B owned the chairs, ya know? what if one of them moves out and you loose a lot more then you thought you would maybe you'd have to redecorate! lol, it's going to be amazing! *dances happily!
You know what occured to me just now, when TS2 does come out... I wonder if this site will come to a standstill. Kind of like an old deserted town?? Haha... Ok, thought over... This game is going to rock... and I'm sure Maxis didn't answer certain questions about certain things because then where would the surprise be when you get it?? Ya know...???
I really doubt this site will turn to a ghost town when the game comes out, it's been here through many expansion packs coming out already! There's usually a frenzy of sharing screenshots so people who CAN'T get the game yet can ask tons of questions and people who HAVE the game go run off to play that part of the game and come back and answer... it's pretty fun! Also I tend to end up back here with questions about how to fix problems I've had with the game.
Ahhh.. well I plan on sharing my experiences with all! Gosh... I'm so excited about the game... my bf thinks I'm crazy... everytime I start to talk about it he acts like's he interested... and then I realize he's being sarcastic... and yah, it's sort of a let down.
yeah. i can understand. any time i talk about either the sims 2 or anything computer related to my mom, she acts like she following it, but infact has no clue what im talking about. and it really kinda ticks me off, but i never come out and show it. im not that kinda person to get t'ed so easily.
Sometimes I wonder if people who listen or pretend to listen like that are just overwhelmed by all this information they have no clue about, so it doesn't mean anything to them and they are lost... And how many of those people would care if they understood, and how many wouldn't care if they DID understand?
Well I know for sure that my bf could care less about TS2... but my family understands how much this game means to me *tear* lol... their cool in my book... My lil sister is all "Ahhh! I want that game!" It's very neat :-D
Haha my parents don't really understand the sims, but they watched my brother play it when he was showing them, and the bought me one of the expansions for my birthday one year... I've been lucky my husband supports my sims addiction!! He doesn't play, will probably NEVER play... but he lets me drag him over to the computer to show him what my sims are doing, and sometimes he'll LAUGH!!
