Ok Specs? Or should I reconsider..

I'm close to purchasing a laptop and found a decent one with ok vid specs that I think will suffice for TS2 and running smoothly. If not, do you have any suggestions? Or am i good to go.. Thanks in advance :D

    Operating System: Windows XP Professional.
Processor: Intel Pentium M Centrino Processor 1.5GHz
    Memory: 512MB DDR SDRAM
    Hard Drive: 60GB
Video: ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 w/ 64MB DDR video memory

I have the option the get the ati 9600 but friends tell me it's not worth it since there is minimal difference to the 9000. Anything I should be on the lookout for?

    Thanks again :)

    ^ Thank you :D

Is Asus a good and reliable brand? Their company site looks impressive so far..

The one that I was going to get was a gateway 450x, it's not much of a gaming laptop, but it's not my main priority anyway.

Thanks for recommending that to me :)

Asus is the 5th largest manufacturer in laptops and one of the largest motherboard manufacturers in the world.

Those specs should be fine. I have a computer with about the same level of specs. That's a loaded video card for even a FPS game such as UT2004. I have a Geforce 5200 that does just fine. You should also be perfectly ok. Make sure the graphics card isn't an on board one, because some of those use your system RAM for it's video processing. So even though you may have 512 DDR- your on board video card may use up anywhere from 64-128 RAM. The ones you purchase and install come with their own video RAM. WHen I bought my comp it had onboard. Just getting a new video card greatly improved my performance. It freed up 64 system RAM and added 128 RAM for the card's processing.

The only thing you may have to do is upgrade the harddrive. I have 60 gigs and it's quickly becoming filled. Especially since some of the newer games are 1-5 gigs! Maybe if you buy from dell or gateway you can go for that upgraded 100-160 gig harddrive? I know it isn't that much more money. Maybe 100-200 extra.

    My system is

    AMD Atholon 1.67 Gigs
    512 DDR-RAM
    Geforce 5200 128 RAM
    60 Gig Harddrive
I put my system together for about 950 bucks.
