    Pre-ordering..

When you pre-order you have a choice whether or not to get the four cd set, or just get one DVD cd of The Sims 2, right? Well, I was just wondering, if you got the DVD one would you have to have a DVD rom to run it? I didn't see anything mentioned about it on The Sims 2 site but I just wanted to check.. :)

For the DVD version of the game I'm 99% sure that you will need a DVD-rom drive for your computer so it can read the disc.

To run the DVD version you need some sort of DVD drive. A DVD ROM, DVD RW, Combo CD RW/DVD ROM will all work. A CD ROM or RW or a DVD player will not work.

They probably wouldn't explain it directly, although the box may say something in the section which talks about specs needed to play the game.

I did pre-order. But I want two of the games that way if one of them mess up then I'll have an extra one.

getting both of them is a waste of money... if you have a DVD player and Rom Drive then get the DVD version... The DVD version has extras and it installs quicker...:D

Ya, and both the versions are the same price too. Why waste your money on both?
