Worth it? Is it worth it($20-40) to buy SimCity 4 to create neighborhoods for TS2? I hear that the 3 hoods will be very unique and include one that has an alien family.
Whether it is worth it is a very individual thing. If you like creating your own as opposed to being happy with what you can download, then it's not worth it. But if you like having things you've made yourself better, it can be worth it if you also like to play games like SimCity. I have been playing SimCity games since they came out first for the Amiga (before there was a PC version.) I was especially excited about getting SC4 because SC3K had become rather boring to me. I loved it (in spite of the bad bugs and the 3-4 month wait until we *finally* had the patch.) I ended up not actually playing as much as I would have until the Rush Hour EP came out because I had just found The Sims and was exploring all of those EPs. (Besides, I found that my laptop couldn't handle SimCity4. It was too old even though it was only 2 1/2 years old and had been the top of its kind when I bought it.) If you *just* want to get SC4 to do neighborhoods and not for playing, then get a used SC4 copy (without Rush Hour and not Delux.) That way you don't have to spend as much. You won't even need to get the patch because the problems didn't involve the God Mode terraforming nor plain road/bridge placement, which are the only things you use for TS2 anyway. But if you want to play the game as well, get Delux instead (and get the patch for RH/Delux). Hope that helps.
I'm just gonna borrow SimCity 4 from my friend and try out making neighborhoods. I don't know if I really want to buy the game. Besides even if i did, i don't have the money right now.
