I think theres no difference between going to private school and going to public school. The only difference is :

    Private school:
    1. Your child goes to school an hour later and comes home earlier.
    2. Your child's grades go up slower and plunges down faster and WILL get kicked out of school if the grades remain a D.

    Public school:
    1. Your child's grades go up faster.

So far theres no difference in homeworks lol

Well, I didn't realize it was so easy to get twins on the game...I'm grateful I just got one kid and even then I found it hard to keep up everyone's stats with both parents working and the kid ended up turning into a Bothersome Brat...sigh....plus the nanny I got was totally useless at looking after the kid...she'd go upstairs and wander about complaining about not enough comfortable chairs and leave the kid playing in the toilet!! A couple of times I made the Mom stay home to supervise and everytime she'd put the kid in the crib that dopey nanny would take him out, put him on the floor then leave him...one day she went home at 4 p.m., left the kid playing in the toilet and neither of my adults got home until 5 p.m.!! Man, in real life I would have canned her in five minutes...is that the only nanny available?

I just got my first set of twins today...it was a surprise (2 girls). I have one main family going and they have 4 kids now...and that will be it seeing as I only wanted 3 in the first place ;) I've played out 4 different pregnancies in the game and the 4th was twins. So the mother and father have a teenage boy, a toddler girl, and two twin baby girls. It is definetly hard keeping everyone's needs met when there are 3 small children to change diapers and feed all the time. Luckily the teenager is old enough to help out the parents! His grades are now slipping a bit because of it though. Oh well. The nanny has been doing a pretty good job with them. It'll be interesting to see how the twins turn out looks wise...anyone know if there are both identical and fraternal twins in the game?

Im not sure about that, but I heard that there is a high possibily that both your child would look really alike, or maybe a slight difference which cant really be seen lol so far my sims NEVER even gotten a pair of twins yet sigh and I dont like the nannies either, the nanny I hire seem to like to swim in my pool and put the kid to sleep lol

I wish the nanny would work on potty training, walking and talking a little. If I had a nanny in real life I'd expect a little effort on his/her part! lol I have to turn aging off frquently to get my kid trained in everything. :( Geez..I bet with twins it would take ages. I try to get them at least one logic, creative, and charisma stat during this time, too. I always get precocious preschoolers. Perhaps I should quit being so controlling. What does a bothersome brat act like in the game? lol

So far Ive gotten a brat YET* lol, I wonder how a bratty kid behaves like  I usually keep my kids as toddlers for a WAY long time before I turn the aging back on. So once my sim kid has grown up, he has quite alot of mechanical, charisma and creativity skill :p

As far as I can tell, this is a myth, one that is widely perpetuated and false. Both public and private school teens have school from 0900 to 1300. Public and private school children attend from 0900 to 1500. The hours are exactly the same: However, teens return from school earlier than children do.

I suspect this is a myth also. Not attending at all is still a single letter grade, attending in platinum increases by a grade.

Cannot confirm this one: Usually a family has to have its act pretty well together to even make it into private school, so I've never had one fall apart this badly.

The primary difference between private and public school appears to be the uniforms, and the random events. Public school events always give money, private school events tend to give skillpoints, although some still grant money.

oo I think I made a boo boo on the time, the sim kid comes home earlier and not goes to school later :p but for the grades, my sim kids grades doesn't seem to be going up although she goes to school everyday with a platinum mood, however her grades goes down real fast when she doesnt turn in her homework  so now my child is stuck at a grade C+ with no improvement but it keeps going down although she attends classes everyday and does her homework all the time.. weird  and once she reached a D, a pop up box appeared and said that if she doesnt improve her grades she will be kicked out of school

No, no, no. This is completely a myth. You do not get fewer school hours for going to private school. Period. The hours are exactly the same for both public and private: 0900-1300 for teens, 0900-1500 for children.

Are you using the aging on/off cheat? I have heard that this impedes grade-improvement as well. I have not confirmed this one way or another, however, since I have not observed this behavior myself either way. Homework + platinum generally nets you about a grade to a grade-and-half.

Man, you HAVE to teach me how you people get into some of these messes. I can never manage to do this. I mean, it sounds fascinating and all, but how do make this sort of thing happen? All my sims, regardless of conditions, succeed.

. There are events? Like the ones you get for jobs? Geez..I've never gotten one of those. :(

saucebox, I've wondered what the "meditate" was for..it only seemed to be an option when pregnant. I tried it once and thought who has time for this? lol That could come in handy, thanks for the info!

Because we are control freak gods who are too benevelent to allow them to get so out of control? I made a hippie commune and..honestly I tried..to let them live entirely on free will. I just couldn't stand it! LOL! I HAD to stick my guiding hand in just a little. It then became more until sheesh..I restored to the beginning and controlled them like puppets. I'm pretty sure they will all become business tycoons and famous athletes by the time I'm through...kind of defeats the whole purpose of the hippie commune, huh? I have wondered how much our gameplay style reflects our own personalities.

They're not quite like the ones you get for jobs: There's no interactive choices involved, you just get stuff. For free. There are no "bad" options.

Meditation is handy when pregnant, since needs can be frozen indefinitely, and you'll probably learn to teleport in that time, and a popular pasttime of old, retired geezers (like myself), who have nothing better to do.

Heh, know that feeling. Actually, I ran an experiment like that once: I created such a commune, furnished abundantly with all of the things needed for Sim to meet its needs and survive, and just left them to be while I worked on a home improvement excavation in real life. 2 days later, I came back to check on them, and they were all dead.

Well, it's safe to say that without your help, all of your Sims would perish in total misery, even if given everything they need to survive.

The problem is, even when it is my will to sow chaos and misery, the sims defy me by refusing to become chaotic and miserable! The cuckolded husband stubbornly has no apparent desire to break up or fight: Instead, his wants are to flirt, talk, and otherwise make up with his wife. I think that in my attempt to mold his personality into being likely to become miserable when mistreated so, I may have also inadvertantly made him a spineless, whipped pussy.

Where do they teleport? I know on TS1 there were items to meditate with but I never played with them.

If you've meditated for a total about 14 hours or so, you'll start to float. After that, anytime your sim meditates for about an hour, he will again begin to levitate, and the option to "teleport here" will appear anytime he's selected and you click on a patch of ground. Note that the first time he floats, he won't be able to teleport until you restart meditation and meditate for an hour until he levitates again.

About not getting twins, on this one Sims 2 fansite, you can download a hack that you can have twins all the time. I think its TheModsims2 has it.

well I knew that when your sim meditates he/she will float, but I've not encountered the "teleporting" thingy  maybe it's coz I made her stop meditating because when she started to float I kinda freaked coz its the first time Im seeing it happen lolx

and yes I turned the aging cheat off when I play my sims. Is that related to her grades? Im starting to worry because the social worker took my sim child away for having bad grades once

about the twins issue, is there really a mod tool for the twins thing? I've not seen it there so far

yeah I just found it thanks :) and so far it worked for me too. Really awesome hack. Im having fun with twin babies. Although it was a little tough having to take care of 2 babies when sim dad is exhausted after work and needs to sleep only to have the babies crying and screaming and he will wake up  and I gotta make sim mom bring the kids downstairs one by one  , so the dad can have a peacefull sleep. LOL. But its really fun, maybe it's because its the first time I have a pair of twins in one of my sim family :p and mom is relying on the "energizer painting" to not die of exhaustion :p
