Now that you have The Sims 2..

What's missing? What should be included in future expansion packs?

    expansions

there has to be pets of course possibly more jobs and more styles of everything, maybe a casino expansion???

Do you think maybe they give us the option to control the sims that are visiting the house you are currently on??

Do you think they might ever do one for jobs where you can go to work with your sim?? (god i will feel so dumb if there is one and i missed it lol)

possibly a school one too? perhaps they could make that as a seperate educational one for kids??

something definately needs to be done about object editting and stuff...

could they get a theater based pack one day do you think??

have a pack of ugly people skins too?

Maybe sims could learn to drive?

    What is missing...

What's missing? Well... need more dressers or more options for coloring the dressers.. I have a bed in the game (it is the most expensive bed. I never skimp on the beds) and it does not match any dresser they have.

Other than that.. umm.. community lot items. You can't very well make a grocery store with frozen foods and produce! :p

IMO, options is the main thing it needs. It's a great starter game and actually has alot of content, but once the players start in on designing objects, clothes and skins, it will only get better.

Pets is always a nice feature, although I was rather disappointed with Unleashed mainly because I didnt like all the strays coming around my house by day and the critters by night. However I never trained my pets for show, etc, so Ive always felt I missed alot of the positive content there.

More Objects! or atleast give us all the info alot sooner about how to make our own objects. ive wanted to make a movie theatre ever since sims 1. need that BIG screen.

I agree that the top priority must a tool(s) for object skinning and separate ones for body and object meshing.

After that I'm cool about what stuff is introduced with EP's. I'd still like to have the option to "walk off the lot". eg. Get a sim to walk to edge of the lot and an option bubble pops up "Walk off the lot?" ... if you select yes you get the same message as with taxis about the lot being saved (or a can't leave lot because that way leads out of town) and then the sim is loaded into the neighbour's lot with the neigbours as the NPC's just like on a community lot.

I definitely want weather as it was promised... and pets have to be coming. Something I'd really like to see (but won't hold my breath) is disabled sims... sims in wheelchairs and new building tools for wheelchair accessibility such as ramps and elevators. Maybe even make it so an Elder who gets a short life span because of low aspirations also ends up in a wheelchair... or kids who weren't taught to walk as Toddlers (not sure about that though since I know it can be hard to get all the training in before the age transition). Some people will probably think it's a warped idea, but I'm disabled and would just like to see more diversity in the Sims community... maybe I am warped.

I also like mirelly's idea of being able to go visit your neighbors by walking off the lot. I also mentioned before that I'd like to see the ability to go out (to a neighbor's or a community lot) and then play/simulate what happens at home during that time afterwards, so that time spent away from home actually passes instead of just lowering all your sim's needs (hope that made sense).

My top priorities are programs/tools for Object skinning, Object cloning, and Body Meshing. I'd also love to see shoes as a separate clothing item (like tops and bottoms are currently separate), and the ability to add more accessories, such as tattoos, jewelry, hair bows/clips/barrettes, watches etc. as separate options, and have the hats work so you could pick the hair that would show when the hat is taken off to swim. :D

As far as gameplay features, I want to be able to walk off the lot or go visit my neighbors homes like you would a community lot! :D

If it were possible, I'd also love to be able to make sims that are not symmetrical... for instance, to have one eye larger than the other, or to have a cute dimple one one cheek but not the other. In fact, click and place dimples are something I'd LOVE to have!!! :p

Pets. As much as I hated the strays wandering around I liked my little doggie running around my house, digging up my yard and urinating all over my house. They're kind of like a toddler, only with pets you can ignore them until they run away and not feel any guilt.

i wuld really like to see the sims drive in the upcoming EPs on the sims 2 ... the sims should have cars themselves to go to jobs, community lots etc....

i agree. maybe do something like the rush hour expansion pack for sc4 and allow you to drive your sims cars while in an overhead view.

 Its missing the downtown experience it had with TS1. I like going on dates and being served food at the restaurants/dinners. Also what happened to the pool tables they would have been cool to watch the sims play an actual game of pool. Maybe they could have air hockey tables and why do they have bars at home, but not downtown. The DT scene is pretty boring!

i agree. they forgot to put in alot of things. but one reason i think they did this was simply because they wanted to keep the amount of cd's to a minimum. 4 cds is bad enough. im sure you dont wanna have to deal with having 6-8 cd's just to install ts2. at that point id just get myself an external usb drive and turn the cd's into cd images and put them on the drive. much less clutter imo.

We need more objects period And I'm sick of the ugly be linens bleh.
I want more clothes. And not just regular clothes but clothes that would go with with a fair or elf. They have one face with elf ears but no need clothes for that type of sime ti wear. I did edit the formal dress I turned one kinda a forest green and gave it a grass texture. But I still want more neat clothes. I am disliking half the hairdos. I doubt they add stuff like clothes and hairdos in an ep but it might be nice. Another pet ep might be nice. I never had the other one so I don't know much about the old unleashed ep. I don't want another house party per say but maybe something similar. I find myself wanting my dance floor back.

EDIT I also want my homecrafter back. I need new floors and wall options badly lol.

To chime in again, more interactions with your SIMS is always a good thing. Also, it may just be me, but I think they need slightly longer adult lives. I generally progress through job professions rather quickly, but I still have to rush at the end to settle down and marry and have kids, when that is my goal. The elixer of life helps, granted, but another 5-7 days would be a boost as well.

Another thing I miss involves community lots. No bars or food services other than groceries is a bit of a bummer. I think they should have more options there most definatly. They should also include live NPC SIM bands, wait staff, etc. I know this is not a resteraunt SIM game, but such inclusions would make a great expansion. As it stands, I really dont have good places to take a SIM out on a date or for a relaxing evening.

I almost forgot. I'd love to see the robot from the first SIMS included as well. They were always a great help in keeping the house clean and the garden trimmed.

Lastly, and Ill shut up for now, more party options. I think they should include the options to invite more people over as well as to invite strangers. They should also bring the caterer back as well and have differant types of partys you can throw at any time. Kid's parties, adult parties, costume, garden, playboy, etc, etc. I'd also like to see the option to hire entertainers to perform at events. Magicians, purple dinosaurs for kids, clowns, differant style bands, dancers, etc. I think that these options would add alot of content to the game as a whole.

I've always liked gardening. I'd like to have some working farm items that allow sims to work at home and be self-sustaining. I really enjoyed playing with C&C's items that let me grow veggies and flowers and sell them. Fridges that let me use my homegrown produce. I loved stomping grapes and elderberries to make wine and making preserves from my apple orchards. Persimmon Grove had kiwis and chickens to raise and sell. I sought out items that allowed my sims to work from home. They spend so much time at work and sleeping that there wasn't enough time to live many days. Working from home allowed my sims a lot more time to interact with family and friends. I think they could do a lot with this theme. They could let you have yard sales or provide gardening centers. They always do a lot of high end (living large, superstar) games. I'd like a sim farm option! lol

I am really looking forward to revisiting the Sims 1 ex packs but what I really would love would be a career/school pack that was definitely missing from the 1st Sims!!
