Put the files into My Documents > EA Games > The Sims2 > Downloads :D

I don't have a Downloads folder in The Sims2 folder. Do I have to create it myself? Do I put everything into that folder? Are there no special folders for eye colors or skins? What about music downloads?

 you dont? I think it was supposed to be there, mine was already there after I installed my game, try searching carefully for a folder called "downloads" in your "EA Games > The Sims2" folder, it should be there. As for your downloaded music, you place it in "EA Games > The sims2 > Music > Pop/Hip hop/Metal etc" based on which music channel you would like it to be stored in :D so if you put it under the "pop" category, just make your sims turn to the "pop" channel onthe radio and you can start listening to your musics :D

I don't have a downloads folder.. this is the path that I follow to get to EA Games. --> Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 2

This is what I have in that folder:

These are folders: CSBin, Support, TSBin, TSData
    These are files: eauninstall.exe, eauninstall.ico, filelist.txt, Sims2.ico, Sims2_uninst.exe

And as you can see, I don't have a Music folder either. :devious:

I went ahead and just created a "Downloads" folder. I am going to see if that works.. I'll let ya'll know.. but one more question.. Can there be subfolders for these downloads to work? I like to have my stuff seperated by what site I get them from. Oh and what about houses?

I had to create the "Downloads" folder too. I have the DVD version, so maybe that has something to do with it. But after I created the "Downloads" folder and started filling it with custom content, I was able to use all the custom content just fine. Apparently it's just a bug or something. Hopefull a future patch will fix it. :D

Glad to hear that just creating the folder works. I haven't been able to install anything yet. Still trying to determine if SUB folders are allowable. I like to keep my downloads organized by where I get them.

Oh.. and I don't have the DVD version.

I've noticed as I have been unzipping downloads that the items are ending in .pack or .package. Am I suppose to be able to unpack them or something? I did find this program PackageInstaller.exe in CSBin folder in the My Programs Section for this game. I tried to run it but I've gotten an error.. I also got a similar, if not the same, error while running TS2BodyShop.exe. Why did they have to make installing new downloads so complicated?

The "pack" and "package" files are supposed to work just by placing them directly in the \MyDocuments\EA Games\The Sims2\Downloads folder. No unzipping is necessary. There are other files that have a ".sims2pack" extension. Those are actually files that you double click and are autoextracted and installed by The Sims 2 into the appropriate folders. I've noticed that with those .pack and .package files, not all of them work appropriately. For instance, if I download 20 skins (.package files) from a site, I'll only be able to get like, 15 of them to work in the game. Hopefully this is a known issue that will be addressed in a future patch. And it is possible that the people who are creating these .pack or .package files aren't doing it right.
