Banging head on keyboard NOT helping!!! Hi! I am new, and forgive me if I seem PC handicapped This is my situation. 1) CPU (MHz/GHz) 2.3 Ghz Intel Celeron 2) RAM/Memory - How Much (MB/GB) 256MB with 64MB DDR SDRAM (Integrated Intel Extreme Graphics shared video memory) 3) Free Hard Disk Space 60G 4) Total Hard Disk Space 80G 5) Graphic/Video Card Intel 82845G/GL 6) Graphic/Video Card Driver Version 6.14.10.3889 7) DirectX Version 9.0c 8) Operating System (Windows? Mac? Etc) WindowsXP Home 9) Sims 2 CD or DVD Version DVD 10) Nature of problem (more details the better) Okay, so I can play a regular DVD in the drive, but it doesn't "see" the Sims2 DVD?!? I have tried manually starting it in "Run" and also through the Control Panel Add New Software, NO GO! Help My son bought this for me as a surprise, and he lost the receipt. I took it back to Best Buy where he got it and all they did was give me another copy (and opened it, so I can't even return that one). They wouldn't exchange it for the CD Rom version, either I heard a rumor that EA would send CD in exchange, is that true and how do I do that? Thanks all!
Never mind! I left the DVD in for a while, bout ten minutes, and it started up. Installed and playing just great!
Wee update Well, the game was lagging so badly that I went out and got a new vid card, a GeForce FX 5200, and 512 MB RAM memory. WOOHOO, I'm simmin' now, baby!
hehe, you got a new card just so you could play a game i find that funny great way to get upgrades though, just buy the most hardware-intensive software first
