Product registration for TS2- any ideas? Okay...my problem is that the computer on which I run TS2 (the only one in the house capable of running it reasonably well) currently doesn't have an internet connection. It's also not likely to any time in the near future. I want to be able to product register so that I can download stuff from the exchange, but at the moment it seems as though there is no way to register through the TS2 site. I've tried emailing them for help, but they've not even bothered to reply to me. Just wondering if anyone here has any ideas or knows another way it can be done.
may i ask something here. if you dont have a net connection and wont have one anytime soon, 1) how do you expect to download from the exchange and 2) where are you posting from now? anyways, to answer your registration problem, check the 1st cd of the sims 2. go into the support folder on the cd and youll find a file called Ereg.exe . use that and your cd key to register the game. this will work whether or not you are registering from the same computer the game is installed on. it will basically register the cd key to your EA login.
Ooops, maybe I wasn't making myself clear enough: We have a network of computers (we run our business from home). That network has a net connection (that is what I am using at the moment). In addition to that, we also have a totally separate computer, with a decent graphics card, etc. That gets used for games (mainly so that there's no risk of any games stuffing up our office network), but has no net connection. With TS1, I would download what I wanted and then transfer it using a rewritable CD. Bit of a pain, but there you go... Hope that makes my last post a little clearer. Thanks for your suggestion, I'll give that a go now.
