Upgrades! Lured you in, I did! You thought I had cool sites to download all kinds of upgrades, but sorry. What I cant wait for, is until EA games comes up with an expansion pack, with new flooring, wallpapers, and stuff!. I miss the pooltable, the karaoke scene, and the kitchen counter in steel and glass(superstar). And rwal carpets, and oilpaintings, and those floor-to-ceiling windows, also from superstar. I miss alot of things. What about you guys? What upgrades would you like?
The longer I play the more I'm getting frustrated by my lack of choice! lol We are just spoiled, aren't we? I still find myself looking for rugs and a decent picture to hang. I think the thing that's most affecting my game is that there aren't enough mid range items. There is a 600 buck shower and a 1500 buck shower. There is a cheap toilet that seems to be in multiple shades of green or an expensive one with a little choice in color. For some reason just plain white doesn't seem to be an option! lol There are a ton of beds that have low stats and 2 terribly expensive ones that will actually rejeuvenate them. I think I'm going blind going through the little menus to pick light, medium, dark wood and then picking which blasted bedspread from the little thumbnail photos. I desperately want some better lamps AND a variety of short wardrobes. I'm about ready to scream over the wallpaper. It's all a little frumpy or it's blah. Last night I was playing with the Curious family "lone gunmen" guys and kind of fixing the house up a little and wondered why they picked those columns to stick all over it. They just aren't metalic or high tech enough. Uh..because they didn't make any? Irritated me to no end! lol AND I desperately want some more outdoor plant options. (You know..this would have been shorter if you'd asked what we DID like! But I do appreciate the opportunity to whine. )
I just wish there was more variety and that the "custom made" stuff would become available for download. I miss the fun of decorating with things I have downloaded from diffrent sites. I have so many favorite sites, diffrent styles, ya know? I miss being able to decorate a room in baby stuff with "Winnie The Pooh" Walpaper, and then being able to do the little girl's room in something like "Strawberry Shortcake" and the boy's room in "Pokemon" or whatever, and then maybe having a geeky teenager have "Star Trek" wall hangings and "Lord of the Rings" curtains, or whatever! I know if I am just patient, those things will slowly become available, but, heck, my Sims ain't getting any younger! LOL LOL
What we cant get Whining is really what this thread was about. We have grown complacent I guess. I remember when I bought Superstar, I was editing almost all my houses to give them the floor-to-ceiling windows, the white marble flooring in the bathroom, adding a pooltable to the partyroom and things like that. One thing that really irritates me is the lighting. Arent they suppose to turn off, when the sims are sleeping? Most of the lights do that, but the ceiling mounted and some of the wallmounted wont do that. I try to toggle the autolights, but its either on or off. You know you can choose from this room, this lamp or all the lights. the auto option isnt really good. But the coolest thing yet is that you can build basements. It really works out great and gives a lot of extra room. I tried to build a small house 7x7, adding a basement and move in 2 sims. They had plenty of room!
