Strange glitch... anyone else had this happen? This is going to be a little long, so bare with me, please. I'm just really curious whether anyone else has had anything like this happen. So my twins turned from toddlers into children. They were the 3rd and 4th children in my family. All went well at their birthday party... until the little girl vanished. Just poof (well... not even poof... nothing happened at all) and she was gone. Gone from the icons on the left side of the screen. Gone from the lot. But she was still there under "family" for the relationships of the other Sims in her household. And they still had aspirations that had to do with her (her mother wanted to get both her and her twin bother into private school, her father wanted to tickle her, etc). I hadn't saved for a bit so I exited to the neighborhood and then went back into the lot. This time I didn't have a birthday party for them in the evening, figuring I'd try something different. Instead, I had both toddlers grow up in the morning. And again the little girl vanished. Though it took almost an hour of Sim time for it to happen. I tried again, this time having her brother grow up first (she'd gone first both times before) and then waited a couple hours and had her grow up. About 2 Sim hours later, she disappeared again. By this point I was pretty frustrated and bummed... it's silly how attached I can get to my Sims. But I just resigned myself to the fact that somehow she was gone and hoped her family would forget about her (aspiration-wise anyway) soon. But it really was strange. The bowl she was cleaning up the last time she disappeared was right where she'd vanished... and I couldn't move it. No other Sim could interact with it, because it said it was in use. Even with the move objects cheat on, I could only move it, I couldn't get rid of it. When I saved and exited to the neighborhood after getting the household through another day, I noticed the little girl was still here on the family story screen when you click on the house. I entered the house again, she wasn't there. So I quit and shut down my computer for the night. Today, I went back on and opened the same lot and there she was! Walking in from outside (where I'd moved the bowl she was cleaning up when she disappeared to get it out of the way). It was probably about 16 Sim hours from when she'd disappeared and there she was, in exactly the same mood she was in when it happened. Really weird. And still no one can clean up that bowl! Not even her. I ran through another day with the household, and nothing strange happened. All's well that ends well, I suppose. But I am just curious if anyone else has had a similar glitch happen in their game. My computer has never had any problems running the game and wasn't acting up (bogging down, working too hard) when I was running the game last night. I just would like to know because, if not, then I'll chalk it up to a one time thing. If so, maybe there's something I could do to avoid it happening again.
Well so far I havent encountered things like this but a kid that just goes poofies when she grows up? maybe its a bug? but it only happens to your female sim child though *hmm*
My only bug with them growing up was a had a kid Daniel and I had him grow up into a teen. Yeah I thought all was fine but I noticed I didn't get to pick an aspiration, it was still grow up and his age bar hadnt gone down to start over so the next night he became an adult with the grow up aspiration but then he had a real bad rating although he had seemed to platinum course he died later that night of Fright form the ghost of his dear father lol
