Yes, they can. However, it's a difficult exercise akin to herding cats, as I've found out. You need to make them hate each other, and this is REALLY HARD. Sims do not want to fight. It takes about 6 hours of poking and shoving to get them to fight.

Be unfaithful and be sure they find out. That kills the love pretty quickly.

You'd think that just move out from the house would signalize something like "I don't like you anymore, let's end this". But I guess it makes it too easy.

No, you can move out and live seperately for whatever reason and still be married. It just makes for a long-distance (well, not really) relationship.

The problem is, it is VERY difficult to get Sims to really loathe each other when they already adore each other. Nice Sims that you tell to do this will make protesting gestures at you, and then then subject will spend a goodly 4 or 5 sim minutes crying about it. Grouchy Sims will defy your will by actually enjoying this. I have a couple that *LIKES* to argue with each other. How very me. I never have good conversations with people I actually like, I argue all the time.

Something that I have noticed - I don't know if it's a fact though - Is that once you have made a grouchy sim argue or fight with someone, it's more likely to start argues or fights with any sim, seemingly without a reason.

No, it isn't. Grouchy sims already like to start arguments with people. For no reason. Just look at me. I'm grouchy, and I start arguments for no reason all the time, just because I enjoy arguing.

Okay. Yes, you prove the theory, I'd say.

invite another sim over and have whichever sim fall in love with that sim. when they're in love and at 100/100 have all three sims go up into the bedroom. have the one sim and their lover relax on the bed and them have them woohoo. the sims that is married to the other sim will see them cheating and the option to "break up" will show up over the other sim. i hope thsi made sense.
