Has anyone finally figured out how to... Has anyone finally figured out how to create long hair for men? I'm afraid I am having no luck figuring out how to use the Body Shop for my needs. I really wanted to have realistic pixel representations of my favorite characters from my beloved book "Queen of the Damned". I refuse to recreate Marius De Romanus looking anything like that **** movie depiction.
OK, This has nothing to do with your post about long hair.... BUT I love the Anne Rice books and when I was reading them all the time I was trying to get pregnant and decided that if I got pregnant and had a son I was going to name him Marius since I wanted something different for my kids name. Today my 10 month old son Marius loves watching the opening movie for TS2. He stops whatever he is doing and runs over to watch it play and just laughs and laughs. And as a side note on that... instead of his top two middle teeth coming in first... his "vampire" teeth came in first. I think it was the name. I hope you can find a way to long hair for men, I would love to make a house of vampires. Good luck
Meh, I don't see what the real connection between long hair and vampires is. I've always thought that long hair was a crutch of the vampire wannabe. What does an immortal being care for fashion, anyway?
In this case it isn't about caring about fashion. They are looking to reproduce a specific character from a book. At the time that Marius De Romanus was made into a vampire the current style for mens hair was longer. If he cut his hair or changed anything about his apperance it reverts back to exactly how it was when he was made immortal. It is the same for all the vampires in the series of books.
That makes sense, I guess. Still, I don't anticipate this becoming very available until people start delving into hacking meshes in greater depth. I hear the long hair for men thing is rather in demand, though.
J.M., Your quirky sense of humor never ceases to amaze me and make me laugh. Daizee hit the nail on the head with her reply though. It's about attention to detail. The character Marius was made a vampire 2000 years ago towards the end of the Roman Empire. I have an excellent imagination, but some things are uncompromisable. P.S. I wanted to take the time to thank you J.M. for all the knowledge you have shared on this board to date. I read all the posts here, but have never been much of a conversationalist. Cass
That is very cool that you named your son Marius. He was always my favorite. I had thought of it, but my wife is more of a Lestat fan...lol And the teeth thing with your son is really funny. Cass
Heh, well, if you thought that random musing was funny, you probably missed the Superman debates: Like why doesn't he arrive on the scene hairless and naked from atmospheric burn, and why, if they think it's a bird or a plane, do the people point and shout? Think of it as being like a sandwich. Some days you eat the sandwich, other days the sandwich eats you.
I want some long hair for men, too!! I just happen to love the style! (That's what growing up in the 80's does to a girl! LOL) My 8-month old, Aiden, also loves the TS2 intro. He sits on my lap and bounces to it. He's also figured out that if he kicks or smacks the keyboard while I'm playing it does things like pauses the game or brings up the start menu, which he thinks is a riot, and Mommy gets aggervated. LOL I love it that you named your son Marius. I love the Vampire Chronicles. (msp, sorry) I have this bad habit of naming my kids after soap opera charectors. I don't even mean to. One day My MIL mentioned it, "Did you realize that there is an Allen and an Alexis on General Hospital?" And I thought, "Well, yeah, and my daughter's nickname, Lexi, came from a charector on Days of Our Lives." So I stopped watching soaps and named my baby Aiden. After he was born, someone said to me, "Ahh, like Aiden on 'Sex In The City!'" and I had one of those a-ha moments, "A-ha, that's where I had heard the name ! Crap, isn't that almost like a soap?" I watch too much TV, need to read more!!! LOL
Trust me.. reading more won't help. I am very happy that I named my son Marius but when people first meet him we have to tell them his name over and over... then they STILL call him Marcus. Especially at Doctors offices!! The funiest thing was when I was still pregnant and told one of my co-workers what I was going to name my son she came to work on day all upset and nervous and said I have to tell you something your not going to like. I asked what it was and she told me that she had just seen this movie called Queen of the Damned and there was a VAMPIRE in there with the name Marius. I just laughed and told her that was from the set of books I got his name from. I felt pretty bad for her. She thought I was going to freak out. And my son has learned that if mommy walks away from the game for a minute and forgets to put the mouse up he can do damage to the game and mommy freaks out. He think thats just so funny. He has done that without me noticing and unpaused the game!! Fortunatly I usually save just before I do that in case the computer decides to mess up so there is USUALLY no harm done:happy:
Even his Grandpa has taken to calling him the vampire. It doesn't help things that he likes to sneak up on you and bite your does when you have your feet up. He acts like he is just going to give you a huge then WHAM... vampire bite. I'm just hoping he grows out of that real soon!!! I do get a little sick pleasure from watching him get unsuspecting guests. I guess I just have a little evil streak in me
As much as people are into sim torture, I'm surprised that I've never seen 80's sims with tower bangs. Wouldn't that be hilarious? Or how about sim mullets? As to the name Marius, I started thinking about Gaius Marius from ancient Rome. He was the only man to hold the consulship 6 times, and he's anawesome character in Colleen McCullough's series about the fall of the Roman Republic and the Rise of the Roman Empire. In fact, I've been working my way through the books trying to design sim heads to go with all the pencil drawings of busts in the book. Someday, I will have Julius Ceasar himself in my neighborhood.
As someone that actually had the tower bangs, or wall 'o hair, (not one of my proudest moments looking back on it) I think it would be great to have something like that. And a mullet would just be hillarious.
Update on long hair for men: The Sim Exchange at thesims2.com has some of the first attempts I have found. For any others who were interested, just do a search for "long hair" under male gender at the Exchange. Cass
