My sims... all become INSANE! Hey, I'm really frustrated because all of my sims go nuts... They make all kinds of crazy animal noises, the therapist comes... but shortly after that, they DIE. No apparent reason. What makes a sim go crazy? And is INSANITY a cause of death? This one sim... poor thing. Her husband died and THAT's when I found out she was pregnant. Well she got sick.. and wouldn't stop crying. then she went nuts, acted like an ape and then died. The other sim I got pregnant also had a miserable time... She'd pass out on the way to the bathroom, but wake up if I tried to have her sleep in bed... and go to the bathroom.. only to pass out again. repeat, ad nauseum, then she went nuts.. and died. What am I doing wrong? Isn't there some kind of magic espresso like in the first sims? Whatever happened to Sims-On-A-Stick? I want hacked objects and I want them now! They won't stop complaining and I WANT them to die!!! They start crying and the knowledge aspiration icon comes up, but when I try to get them to fulfill some wants (by reading or WHATEVER) they're always "not in the mood"... **** them! Oh yeah.. There are ghosts CONSTANTLY pacing back and forth, slamming doors, etc. And one of my characters WANTS to see a ghost. And I've had him stand around in the yard waiting, I've even tried chasing the ghost around, but it's not working. WTF? They pass each other like 10 times a night, but still he can't see the ghost? Thanks... I needed to vent. I did kill some of them off, just for spite. But the ones I like always mysteriously die for no reason!
LOL You are having a tough time of it, aintcha? You need to learn how to manage your sims aspirations as their needs. If all your fears came true at once wouldn't you feel a little ... well ... depressed Maybe you are trying to manage too many sims at once. Start off with just one or two and learn to look out for the things that they want to do and make sure they do some of them ... then if something bad happens it won't affect them quite so much (though if you keep their needs and their wants fully satisfied the bad stuff tends not to happen anyway. Don't know why your sim can't see the ghost ... maybe he needs more skills points ... logic????
Ghost Sightseeing Your sim can't see the ghost cause the ghost didn't decide to pop out at your sim. One of my sims died found out later he starved to death........one of my first familys. Anyway Your sims can only see a ghost if the ghost triesd to scare the sim. My sim had the same problem untill the ghost pooped out at him then he could see the ghost.... really scared him started sticking otu tongue going crazy the ghost sim went all hehehe very hilarious my sim peed himself
I think it's funny how Sims never get over ghosts. You'd think after the 6th ghost or so you've seen, it would start to get pretty old. It's also interesting to note that Sims who pee themselves as a result of a ghost don't have this as part of their memories, and don't do the leg shaking thing.
Pee themselves huh? And apes that are humans, seems to me things have gone mad. lol One of my sims made pig sounds and died not sure why though, Just a thought, is this a family already put in or did you make them?

Wow! Your poor Sims! I can really, really feel for you, having a pregnant sim go through something similar in the 1st few weeks I was playing it. (I still swear, to this day, that she poisoned her hubby thought, LOL). Yes, they can die from being miserable. They need to have their wants fulfilled and not have their fears come true. If they stay in the negatives with aspriation points for too long, they will die. The insane behavior you describe is a warning that death is about to happen. I agree with Mirelly about trying to manage only one or two sims at a time. So far I have had no luck managing a large family succsessfully.
Can a sim actually die from Aspiration Failure, though? I know Sims can die from need failures, but I wasn't aware it was possible for a Sim to die purely from unfulfilled wants. It's certainly not listed anywhere as a valid ghost color.
I've had one do it. His aspiration meter stayed red, then he experienced a strong fear (death of a relative), went nuts for a little while, babied a flour sack, and then soon after had another fear come true (this one wasn't such a big one, like using a public restroom or something) and he died.
And he just died? For no other apparent reason? He didn't starve or anything as a side effect of being unable to take care of himself, he just died? Did it look like he was choking, and then spontaneously died, or did he just drop dead? This isn't listed as a cause of death that produces a ghost color. What color was his ghost? There's no ghost color listed for death by aspiration failure. I know I've seen some pretty strange deaths myself, like "Death for no reason", and "Death by Woohoo", though. Honest, that happened once, Don Lothario died from Woohoo. Live by the woohoo, die by the woohoo, I guess.
Died of Woohoo, eh? Wouldn't it be deliciously funny if the hula girls arrive to escort him away armed with hammers ... and nooo ... I am not going to explain that rather bawdy joke.
Yup, he just crawled out of bed after a woohoo and collapsed dead. No hula girls, because he died of woohoo, not old age.
LOL!!! JMP, I seriously do not know what color his ghost would have been because I didn't save and restarted from the last save-point. He was alone in the house, was a family sim who couldn't get a date. Yes, he grabbed his hair (like he was pulling it out) and then fell over dead. It was hillarious!
