snow? question hi is it possible to have a snow neighbourhood? where its snow everywhere? . or have the four seasons in one neighbournhood including weather like rain? . thanks for the help.
They *were* going to implement such things into the original release of Sims 2, but either didn't have the time or it ended up being too much work for a purely cosmetic effect ( not adding anything to the gameplay ). It MAY be released in one of the expansions as they will have had more time to work on it, but don't count on it.
You know what I would like to see? An internal calendar that changes the seasons. If Nintendo can do it with Animal Crossing, Maxis should be able to do it, too!! Our PC's have more memory than a game cube!
I think weather would have to be carefully introduced ... if it ever is. There'd be no point in it if it didn't add to gameplay .... For example making comfort drop to zero for sims who are sleeping without a roof when it rains/snows. Maybe snow would cause a carpool failure ... free day off work/school (no wages tho ... ) ... they stay home for snowball fights and to build snowsims. Rain would boost weed growth but otherwise reduce gardening chores ... also it would make serious and/or neat sims run indoors grumbling. Wind would also be good! Sims could fly kites and stuff left outdoors, like homework, bills and newspapers would get blown away ... LOL Finally ... hot and sunny days would make sims grumpy and lethargic if no pool is available.
When I read the thread title, I immediately thought of the ever-snowy South Park neighborhood complete with its own Cartman, Stan, Khyle, and Kenny.
Weather would be awesome! And seasons too. With fall, summer, spring, winter, snow, rain, wind, hail, thunder, lightning, ect.
There are some buyable weather things (rain, lightning, etc.) somewhere on the modthesims2 forum. I think it is under the Beta Testers section. You should be able to find it by searching the forum in any case. Not sure how well it all works, some people have mentioned a lot of problems, but some people don't seem to have had any. (I haven't tried it myself, I've banned myself from playing TS2 until next friday when my exams finish). The screen shots that people have got out of it are pretty effective looking though
