    Loading Sims 2

I have tried to search for anyone else with this problem but so far unsuccessful.

We have had no luck installing Sims 2 on any of the 3 computers we have in this house.

Quite frankly I am ready to toss the bloody disks in the bin but I have a 12 year old son who paid for Sims 2 with his birthday money and is desperate to play it.

Ok, during disk 2 we get the error " A problem occurred when trying to transfer the file TSData/Res/Sound/Sfx2.package from the media do you want to retry to copy the file, or cancel installation".

Now I don't really understand what this means but would be eternally grateful to anyone who could help me.

    Thanks a bunch:) Shuzz

Could you look at disc 2, under a light, and tell me if you see any visible scratches?

Manufacturing defects are bound to occur when it is impossible to fully test every individual product

Is it possible for you to return the game to the store for replacement. (Hopefully you live in a country with enlightened consumer protection law ... ;) )

As a last resort, EA Games will replace the game if you return it to them with proof of purchase.

    Thanks for your help.

I thoroughly cleaned disc 2 and yay, it now works thank God!
I have already tried to return the game but they wouldn't take it back because we had already opened it. They did however want to sell us an updated video card for about $200.
I've now managed to install in on my new laptop and have a very happy 12 year old.

    Thanks again
    Shuzz
