    Can I fix this bug?

A visitor walked off with one of my families toddlers and her icon dissapeared. So I saved the game anyway not really caring if I never saw the baby again. Well, that was a mistkae because now, the baby is on the front lawn laying down awake but I can't click on her icon which has now reappeared. If another family member tries to hold her they can't (it looks like they are being bounced away from her a little). It's just really annoying to have a family member that's visible, but not really in the game. Anyway to get rid of her or is she permanetly stuck with that family? Also...I tried downloading the patch but it won't "run" for me.

Patch installation problems are explained here "I Can't Install The Patch"

We'll talk about the baby when you have installed the patch, OK? ;)

I've created a nice little home security system that's being tested over on MTS2. Rather handy, since I can then lock off entire areas of my house so visitors don't go traipsing through it, take off all their clothes, and hop into the pool, and harass the babies, etc. Visitors messing with the babies entirely destroys their sleep pattern and will cause them to grow up mentally retarded. Bad.

Alright, so I just restarted the computer and the patch installed successfully :) So, can we talk about what to do about the baby now Mirelly?

This happened to me too when I deleted this one toddler. It was really awful to have him bawling and green on the lawn, and the SS came round but couldn't do anything, just stood there, and the parents kept trying to pick him up and feed him/change him/put him to bed. I felt so awful. I got rid of the demon child by making a Sim (Sacrifical Lamb Atonement) who moved in with the family, and then moved straight back out again, but taking the demon child with her (yaknow when you tell them to move out and the screenlet pops up asking you who you want to move out with them). Then I deleted the Sacrificial Lamb and demon child family from the Families bin, and voila, the child existed only in the memories of the family, who have agreed never to speak of him again. I think his twin brother was quite traumatised by it, actually, being severed from his twin and all, but by the end his twin was more like a doppelganger anyway, so it was probably in retrospect more of a relief to be rid of him. Ho hum.

A thought: If the "sacrificial lamb" and demon child move out, won't they be reinstanced cleanly on whatever new lot they move out to? After which the child could be raised to regular childhood or even possibly moved back in, if you used one of the parents instead, and function correctly.

Yeah but by this time I hated/feared the child so much (it was around 2 in the morning and I was very tired and emotional) that I wanted to rid myself and my neighbourhood of it as soon as possible. But good idea though :).

No one has answered my question yet. Is there anything I can do to get the baby into the game again?

I thought Zootyzoot had answered you.

My advice is to try this idea:
Get one of the adults to move out (find own place)
When they go get them to take baby with them.
Got families bin and move the mover out and baby into their own new home. Check baby "works" properly. Give them a phone. Save and go back to first family. Invite the one who moved out to come over. Feed them up and treat them nicely to get them in a good mood and then ask them to move in. Baby should be working just fine. You'll also have the best part of 20 thousand extra bucks. :)

Do you find this to be neccessary? I ususally ask a Sim to move in as my first interaction with them when I invite them over with that purpose. I know it was neccessary in TS1 but it doesn't seem to be anymore, in my experience.

Ahh, you're right...I missunderstood what zootyzoot had written...thankyou both for the ideas. I'll try it and see what happens.

Probably not Zoot. I've had few occasions when I wanted a Sim to move in as a roomie. I did build a big apartment block with 8 unfurnished one bedroomed apts. There's one CAS in there by the name of Rupert Rigsby, he's a popularity sim which is kinda funny cos I made him a bit too realistic. I'm still working on it. He's still doing his best to get Ruth Jones to move in :p The rate I am going, by the time he gets his tenement all filled up he'll be looking about right when he tries to straighten up, put his hands on his hips and screech his outrage before pleading with Miss Jones for some woohoo ... and if the pets don't hurry up and arrive before then how am I supposed to manage without a Vienna?

Eh? It's absolutely prime sims material, I tell ya

Well, I tried Mirelly's idea first to see if I could save the baby but no bueno. I moved out one of the adults and took the baby with him. The baby still doesn't work at the new home. In the beginning, when I found the baby not working in the first place...I moved out the whole family into a new home to see if that would fix the problem and it didn't. I'm wondering if maybe that messed up the chances of getting the baby back the way Mirelly said to? I don't know, it seems like that would be the same concept. Hmmm...looks like I'm going to have to get rid of the baby :(

I had a similar problem when I had this set of twins. I couldn't get the Mother to get out of the way of the baby's crib, therefor the baby would starve, I tried everything removing walls, put the cheat moveobjects on, so that another Sim could get the baby, but nothing worked. It wouldn't let me pick the baby up for nothing, the Mother acted like she was in a fight mode and even did some mime. I even removed the baby from the crib & had a Sim pick up the baby and it still didn't let me pick up the baby finally I deleted the crib with the baby & my baby was gone but the Mother started working then. So I played it that way, but when I went to turn my game on the next day & play my game my baby was back out on the front lawn next to the mail box & behold It allowed my Sims to go & pick up the baby, the only problem was the twins were now aday apart & no longer considered twins. I still have the twins in my game & haven't had any problems with them since so if this happens to anyone again try deleting the crib with the baby in it & then quit your game, then restart. Hope this helps someone.
