Downloads Ok...somebody probably already asked this question but I haven't been able to find the post anywhere...How the heck do you get stuff that you've downloaded from fansites into the stinkin' game? PLEASE!!! I'm desperate. LOL
I'm sure this has been discussed before, as you said. Place the files you've downloaded into the folder "My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Downloads". Once you restart the game the files you downloaded will be present in the game and ready to use.

ok...i've done all that stuff...i've even done a disk cleanup and a defrag just to see if it would help but I see nothing in my game...I've even re-downloaded everything, (which by the way is a pain in the rear) I just don't know what i'm doing wrong.
I think i pulled my brains out to ..downloading alot of content from the sims 2 homepage and yes i did all the right things to , But i also found out you can only upload one file at a time than loading all the files at once unless you re name our offset the files in the content folder which to me is a nightmare , So what i do is when i play the game each time i add new material one file at atime as i play each time , I even wrote support about this downloading flaw i think were so youst to the original sims and expect a feast of our downloads to be there , But the word i got from support was the reason they did it that way is because of the protection of getting corupt files that you upload i mean i spent a week trying to figure out why i got 50 items not showing up but only one it will throw you big time because your expecting more , Anyway since i upload one item at a time everything has been smooth but sooner our later we will see more exspansion packs that will loosen the game even more if fact they got alot plan for sims 2 can you imagine the urbz imported in the sims 2 oops
Well i don't know what else to do...nothing worked but thanks all for your help...someday they'll be there.
you might have to do a re install ..seams to me that your content folder is corupt i had that happen to me ..so that you dont loose what you got ..try packaging your sims and save your sims that way when you re install you didnt loose them ...also back up your download material to ..do a re install ...and before you do this check your firewall to i had my firewall lock down my game play and it was scanning my files as i was downloading ..anyway try that ...because i think your content folder is corupt the game is not reading the files ok ..i hope that works ...
