    Diaper Mod...

Could someone please make a mod that lets sims other than toddlers use diapers? I REALLY want to do this. I'm mad that even if you don't toilet train a sim it STILL learns how to use the toilet when it becomes a child. Please make a mod so the child, teen, and adult sims can use diapers and have them changed. Thanks in advance!

I hope you're not serious. If you're just being funny, then I applaude you, because your request gave me a good laugh. But if you are dead serious about this, then I'd probably laugh even harder because your request is just plain silly.

At some point, even without any parental guidance, a child will develop "waste management" skills. Basically, as a baby grows into a child, they'll eventually get sick of peeing themselves - and by this time their intellect will be much more developed - and they will find a way to overcome their problem, either by figuring out for themselves what that strange device in the bathroom does, or by going outside and copping a squat in the bushes. It's just like walking. In real life, if you don't teach your baby how to walk, he/she will still figure it out eventually. It just might take a little longer. I think the only consequence of not potty-training your toddler should be a completely random occurence of bedwetting throughout the rest of his/her sim-life.

I'm honestly not trying to be condescending, but this modification would serve no logical purpose unless it was intended as a joke.

I actually agree to torque...I think they won't be able to use the bathroom until potty trained

I think anything eventually learns to control itself. That's why people *HAVE* bladders: A biological ability will be used. If people simply had no propensity to naturally learn this, they wouldn't have bladders, they'd just leak all the time. However, the ability to retain ammunition is essential for use in "marking the territory", so people and animals tend to have bladders. Random bedwetting is a doable mod, though, but this would probably cease after childhood. Even animals don't pee themselves in their sleep their entire lives, and nobody trains wild animals. Bipedalism, however, is pretty much innate. Babies don't even really NEED to be taught to walk, they tend to autonomously take their first steps on their own if left to themselves and given an opportunity to do so: Humans are evolved to be bipedal and will instinctively do so as soon as their brains are developed sufficiently to handle the necessary balancing. They might walk FUNNY if you never help them, but they WILL walk. Talking is similarly innate: A human will learn to speak a language simply by exposure to it at birth. If not specifically coached in speech, they might talk with a speech impediment, but they'll still talk. Combined with the fact that all animals learn to control their bladder, a human will eventually learn from casual conversation what a toilet is for. In fact, a toilet is a recent invention. Before the invention of toilets, people used bushes, holes, or streams, or simply squatted on the ground. Sims, amusingly, have more or less lost the ability to pee anywhere but toilets and their pants. Some few Sims still retain the ability to use bushes, but every other Sim in the universe prefers to go in their pants rather than use a bush.

Folks, be very careful how you "tread" in this thread. If it goes off into "inappropiate zone" it will be closed. ;)

By the way, JMP, please don't post a mod of that sort here. (That's part of the "zone.")

Which mod? Bedwetting, or the ability to pee in bushes? That's already in game. Some Sims can "Use" a shrub.

OK I am gonna close this thread anyway.
Bedwetting would be a pointless mod as it can have no effect that a sim peeing itself immediately after getting out bed with 'bladder desperation' cannot already have. (To wit: hygiene desperation plus the extra work involved in cleaning up the mess on the floor). I can think of many ways that such a mod could be made entertainingly enough but they all seem to lead towards unsavoury directions that are best left to sites that cater for mature tastes.

In any event I believe that Kat was referring specifically to the whole diaper mod issue rather than any of the specific side issues that JMP raised.

    Case closed.
