is there a way to get rid of the woohoo movie? can you get rid of the movie you see when you woohoo? so far, i think that everytime you woohoo, the movie shows, and i really hate that. especially when there are other people in the room....so, how can you make it so it doesn't show??
Just be glad you can see the movie. Sorry, I have issues with the Sims 2's blatant discrimation against my perfectly adequate computer which is powerful enough to play the **** movies. But in response to your question, I would have thought not - you either have the option on to play all the movies or you see none. I don't think you can selectively choose which ones you see and don't see. But I am willing to be proven wrong on this since I've never actually seen them. Grrr.
Movies.. groovy, for the first 2 times... In options (video options, I think) you can turn off the checked box marked "Special Event Movies" or something close to that. I had it checked by default and the first time I had a Woohoo I was like "cool! ". The second time I was like "Ok, kinda cool, but that broke my chain of thought. " Third time I'm like "Dang it all! How do i shut these things off????"
the first time i watched it(i didn't know there was a movie for it) my mom saw it too....so, obviously, i don't want to see it again. so, can i, right before they woohoo, turn off the special event movies, then after turn it back on? that would be perfect, since usually nothing else important happens while 2 people are woohooing in my sim families.
Doesn't the WooHoo movie only play when a Sim WooHoos with another Sim for the first time, or when they WooHoo in the love tub reward object?
The woohoo movie only plays the first time a person woohoos with another person on every new bed on mine. But even it is getting to be a pain in the maximus glutimus right now. I'm going to go search that video options next time I play.
Theres a movie??? I thought that you were talking about the animation (where they make bumps under the sheets and there are fireworks) but now I'm thinking you mean something else... My sims have Woo Hoo'd loads of times and I've never seen a movie.
I'm thinking the same thing, and wondering what the he__ I'm missing!!! When my sims woo hoo, there is the giggle and then the go under the sheets and roll around, there's fireworks sometimes (but not every time, such is life) and if it is the 1st time they have woo hooed toghether the little purple heart shows up over their head. Is that the movie y'all are referring to? Because that's all I've seen, too.
Nah, there's an actual cutscene the first time two Sims WooHoo. It's all very clean - the raunchiest bit is when one Sim gooses the other and their faces put on sort of naughty expressions just before they leap under the covers. You see lumps moving around implausibly under the bed, and the corner of the bed moving up and down. The green mood-diamond sort of explodes with pleasure, and then the camera pans down to the two Sims rising up from under the covers and cuddling each other looking sleepy and content. It's sort of cute.
So its the normal animation but with a bit of goosing beforehand? Never seen that in all my hours of gaming, wonder why...
It's a cutscene video thing, but has pretty much the same content as the normal animation, if I remember right.
The "movie" they are talking about is also known as a "cut scene" because it cuts away from the regular action to show a scene in more closeup fashion. You have to have a pretty good computer (rather than just "adequate") to be able to have the option, as it really can interfere with performance and takes a lot of computer "power" to run it. If you go into "Camera Options" it is found under "Special Event Camera." Some people have found that it isn't just a "first" woohoo that shows the scene, but all of them. (As opposed to kissing which only gives you a single "first kiss.") I personally found the woohoo disconcerting. (I felt like a voyeaur. Yuck. Watching other people. Yuck. Definitely not *my* thing.) The only reason I saw it was because I had it turned on for the couple's wedding and forgot to turn it off. (My computer can certainly handle the "Special event" movies, but I'm not fond of seeing them. But I wanted to see what the wedding one was like.)
i think it's nasty and inappropriate. anyway, what other special events do movies show? so far, i know of the woohoo, birth, moving in, first kiss...and i think that's it.
Don't forget wedding. That's one of the nicer ones. I don't know all of them, but I suspect that just about all the "special" events in a Sim's life end up having a cut scene. (I keep mine turned off.)
Okay, this thread has managed to flip out my hubby. He thought that our computer is "Top Of The Line." It's two years old, but he put the best components in it, and it has run every game and software with no dificulty. When I had problems with TS2 earlier, he kept insisting it wasn't the computer's fault, it's got a good video card, and if I updated the driver, it should work, the game's just crap, I must have downloaded something buggy, yadda, yadda. And now this thread comes along, and I find out I'm missing some of the animation. I read it to him and he again says the computer's fine, top of the line, I just need to go into options and turn on my event camera. So, I try it. The writing and check box for Special Event Camera is gray and won't let me click on it. So now hubby is freaking out that our computer might not be TOP OF THE LINE and that he may have to invest in a new video card and upgrade the computer. He's just bought a 2 year old lap-top for our teenager for $50 and is planning on upgrading it, so now he's seeing dollar bills flying away. LOL LOL LOL The good news: He's gonna upgrade our computer. I'll soon be able to see the special events. (Still pouting that I am missing some little part of my Sim's lives!!)
LOL great story Kristal just to get him even more freaked out.... my FOUR YEAR OLD computer that really was top of the line when I got it can play the cutscenes. wow that'll really freak him out
Perhaps it is time for Hubby to check that purchase date ...I'm sure he missed that 1 in front of that 2
i didn't know there was a wedding cutscene! what's it like? by the way, i unchecked it, because i figured none of the movies were THAT special.
Special Event Camera Does anyone know what the system requirements are for seeing the cut-away movies? I've been playing the game on my parents' computer so I've seen some of them. I was surprised to find my computer won't handle them, despite having an AMD 2700+ processor, 1GB of RAM, and a 128MB GeForce 4 graphics card! Okay, so it's not the newest specs out there, but still fairly high. I mean, this is a game that lists 256MB RAM, an 800 Mhz processor and a 32MB graphics card as the minimum system requirements...
