Someone, help me... I cannot play The Sims 2 (that I'd been waiting for a long time) on my computer. It's because my pc doesn't have video card to play it. When I knew it on September, I was very shocked. Yesterday, I've just found that The Sims 2 DVD Edition exists. Does someone know if I can play the Sims 2 DVD edition on my pc which has DVD-DRIVE?! I wonder if I need the same requirements as the Sims 2 of PC version to play the DVD Edition... Can someone tell me? I know this might be a silly question, but I really don't know much about the computer things. I just wanna play the Sims 2!!!!!
Sorry but the system requirements are the same for both the CD and DVD versions ... except of course that the DVD version requires a DVD drive.
As was said in another post, TS2 will run on any computer, just that it wont run very well. Or much at all. If you lack a video card, you may as well go buy one. They're gonna be needed for future games, not just TS2. There are some available for $100 (so i heard), but make sure that they will work with The Sims 2. Copter.
If you are in the US, I would suggest Wal-Mart for a video card if money is tight. I priced them yesterday, from $58 to $129. It's not top of the line, kick butt and take names quality, but it will allow you to play TS2 on lower graphic setings at least.
Real deals To get a real deal in an nVidia GeForce FX card (especially in the 256 meg range, which I have and runs Sims 2 and Half Life 2 like CRAZY good) go to: www.TigerDirect.com www.newegg.com Both are great and cheaper than Wal-Mart (even with shipping). For 100-150 dollars you can get an awesome card that is right on par with the DX 9 games coming out.
