    Graphics "The Blink of Red"

    Processor: AMD Duron(tm) Processor, MMX, 3DNow, ~1.3GHz
    Memory: 640MB RAM
    Hard Disk Space Free: 30.8gb
    Hard Disk Space Full: 37.2gb
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 64.0mb
    Driver Version: 6.14.0010.6693
    DxDiag Version: 5.03.2600.2180 32bit Unicode (9.0c)
Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158)
Sims 2 CD or DVD: CD

Nature of Problem: After the EA Games screen everything flashes blinking red rapidly. It includes the loading screens, Neighborhood Selection, Menus, Character building, everything etc....

What I've Done: I have tried first off to revert back to older graphics drivers but none worked that were archived for the geforce fx 5200....
I have also tried patching the Sims 2 with the patcher hoping that maybe they had fixed the problem... Ive also read a gazillion forum postings on the problem but have found no solution...

We had a similar issue (maybe?) when we upgraded an older computer in our household to an FX 5200 videocard -- in some of the games everything would go RED when we would log into a newer generation game. We tried various drivers with no luck.

We had to go into cmos/bios and lower the AGP setting down to 2X (it was at 4X) and after that the card ran ok and the games played fine.
