Hmm. But they didn't have the ken to make community lots in the early stages of it all, and I doubt lack of ken is the reason they didn't include much content for the unEP'd TS2 community lots . I disagree. It's not EPs which sustain insterest in a game, it's the quality of the game itself. EPs have their place, certainly, and they do take you back to a game for a while, but not enough to sustain your interst in it for any significant amount of time (in my experience, which obviously may be different from yours ). I don't think you can 'use up' ideas. A game as flexible as the Sims has enormous potential for expansion, and the Sims community is full of suggestions for future EPs.
Good point. I think tho that the main issue has been missed, here. It is all about file sizes. I've just been taking a trawl thru the lot exchange (good to see that Maxis is marking lots with non-Maxis made content!) The one thing I noticed is the massive size of some of the files. Even that horn of plenty was 200 kilobytes! Image files! The game came on 4 CD's but without the graphical content the "game" sofware itself probably fits on 4 floppies. I know that my rate of play has slowed down a lot since last Sept ... a good thing or my house might've disappeared beneath a mountain of kipple and roach droppings and I'd be getting the old windmill in the face routine making like a monkey ... oh ... hang on that's not IRL is it?
