Body shop/ downloads file doesnt work

when I've tried downloading custon skins i cannot get them to work in my game. the only ones that i have been able to get to work are the ones that instal themselves like the wall paper and floors do. I have tried many diffrent ways IE: The Sims 2/ Downloads, I acctually do not have a folder for the body shop, whenever i try to open it it runs the boby shop, and yes i have tried multiple ways to acces this. another thing that i have noticed is that for all of my objects that I downloaded, like all the recolerd counters, sofas and beds i had to download them into:C/Program Files/EA Games/The Sims 2/TsData/Res/Sims 3D in order for them to work. the downloads folder would not work. if anyone could help i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

    Very strange indeed

Back up your data to CD or something, uninstall the sims and delete the mydocs/eagames/the sims 2 folder, then intsall again.

It might just be that install, but if it does the same again theres something wrong with the PC.

If that fails, try defragmenting your hard disk and doing a disk clean up.

Body Shop doesn't really have its own folder if you have the game installed. (And if you still have the old downloadable Body Shop installed, you may want to uninstall it.)

To launch Body Shop you go to Start, click on All Programmes or Programs, go to EA GAMES then The Sims 2 which takes you to a list which has The Sims 2 Body Shop on it. Double click on that and wait (as it takes time to come up, especially if you have a lot of downloads already.)

The files that you work with in your paint program that you have set up with Create Parts in Body Shop are found in user specific My Documents\EA GAMES\The Sims 2\Projects.

If you have naked .package files, those go into user specific My Documents\EA GAMES\The Sims 2\Downloads. Do not add anything to the Programs files because unlike TS1, all the user data for TS2 is in My Documents. Only the programs themselves are in Program Files (and one other file: part of the color enable file, but most of the places where you can get the CEP, it's a self installing file so that you don't have to mess with the program files at all.)

If you try to make a Downloads file in Program Files, it won't work.

However, I've had lots of experience with downloading recolored objects and they all work just fine from the My Documents (make sure it's the user specific one, not all users or shared My Documents)\EA GAMES\The Sims 2\Downloads.
