Graphic Problem

I currently reformated my pc so I had to reinstall the sims2. Now Im encountering graphic problems in my game which I never encountered before. What has happened is, the blurry patch that shows each time your sim pee/bath is no longer blurry, and instead, its a white (sometimes blue) box patch which replaced it, and it looks horrible! I have no idea how it could happen because I never encountered it before till now

Just in case, here are my pc specs. I only know these few, I have no idea what graphic card Im using, but its preety new, I got it about a year an a half ago. I think its called nVIDIA GEFORCE 4 or something like that *sorry* and Im using windows xp professional.

Pentium 4 CPU 2.40GHZ
512MB of RAM
Total disk space is 111GB (only used 8.10GB so far)

Please help me out, the ugly patch is so horrible thanks! Ill post a picture later, I havent taken a screenshot yet.

 

Probably its your game settings that are set too low to show the pixelated blur. You should be able to set your resolution and settings higher to get the desired effects.

Though seeing as you have recently re-installed your pc, it might be that your video card drivers are outdated. If it is a Nvidia Geforce card then you can download a new driver from www.nvidia.com They have a universal driver that works for all Geforce series cards. Once this is updated you will probably see an improvement :classic:

Here's a screenshot of the ugly box and Ive installed the drivers from the webbie like you said but it doesnt help either and Ive set the graphic settings in the game from low till high and it still doesnt make a difference please help me thanks

 

Just remove the blur altogether.

This will get rid of the censor blur altogether, which is something that I do systematically because it annoys me no end. Anyway, it's an excess of prudishness because the sims are about as detailed as your average Barbie or Ken doll. [While I agree with you, it is still considered adult material and not suitable for discussion on this list.]

 

well I've seen nude sims and I dont like it, but its better than seeing the ugly box! thanks alot! you're awesome! *thanks thanks thanks*

 

After re-installing did you download the latest Sims 2 patch? If not this might solve your problem (after some scratching through the BBS on thesims2.ea.com). Good luck & enjoy

I did download and installed the patch but it didnt help solve the problem either, so I removed the blur thing *sigh* it looks horrible but Ill live with it lolx. Thanks anyways!
