Can you force townies to age? Is there a way to get a townie into sims body shop, therefore enabling me to make them an adult, and re-enter them into the game? The reason is the main one everyones having - their teen fell in love with a townie teen - now my teens grown up the romance has gone, so theres two options, mod it so adult can romance a teen (not really the most politically correct idea ) or make the townie teen grow up. I realise this is likely to involve modding. Thanks
There is a package editor called SimPE. It is described as experimental and is supplied as being in "alpha" state of development. This means that the people who are writing it are continually altering and improving it and that some parts of it may not work properly (or according to expectations) It is not, therefore, supported so users take their own risk when messing about in the games files. On the other hand there are also hacked objects around that will do most anything ... no doubt including changing townies around. However I have decided with TS2 (and this is an entirely personal decision) to avoid using hacked objects wherever possible. Hacked objects made by reputable persons for enhanced gameplay enjoyment (eg Programmable Security System (by JM. Pescado & Doctor Boris) -- ESRB Notice: Caution Advised) can make the game much more playable. But others are just clumsy ways to cheat and they can not only wreck your own game but also spread like a contagion via downloaded houses. OK Rant over. I advise you to get SimPE. I will not tell you how to find it, or how to install or use it. This is because I think that if you cannot find SimPE using a search engines you are better off not even trying to use it. (I guess that sounds patronising and if so I apologise ... I'd rather be sorry for that than to be sorry you destroyed your favorite family. (I also don't go on like this when I'm being sarcastic and patronising) Anyway. Good luck. I'm pretty sure you'll start in on SimPE and before long you'll be posting up the snapshots of the wedding! (It's not Meadow, is it? I've been kinda wonderin' what she'd look like as an ole' lady ... pity I killed mine off ... she's just a ghost in the machine now ... ) The latest version is quite easy to use (or else I would not be able to do anything with it)
If it was possible to customise &/ create your own townies, I think people'd resent them a lot less. Some neighbourhoods might not suit the kind of characters described by the townies. Some players might just dislike them all, and resent having soulless prefabricated characters imposed on their neighbourhoods. It's difficult not to prefer your own characters over the irritating, boring, ageless little tards that Maxis made.
That's why I used SimPE to ghostify all the townies in my new 'hood. Combined with JMP's no townies respawn hack I was able to amke my own ... eg: Jordan seen in the chess cheating pic ... I like a classier sort of Townie Much more refined than that slapper Meadow ... IMHO
Blower, I would suggest visitng ModTheSims2.com and reading through the message boards on this subject. I have SimsPE, but I am one of those people who must play with a program to learn how to use it and have not gotten my courage up to alter my game with it as of yet. I did, however, find another solution to the problem, but I don't think that it is appropriate for everyone. I'm like Mirelly, I don't want to be responsible for you doing something to your game that you (Or your Mom, if you're a child, or any other child reading this for that matter) may not appreciate.
Sorry ... what? You can make your own townies with SimPE? So I don't have to put up with my Sims being molested by dull, immortal drones? Please may you explain how?!
Urrr. ... Maybe I should've put it in "" ... I mean I have a couple of dozen sims in largish families that I don't play much (if at all) to act as townies. I have the Willis's (6 kids (3 teen girls 3 child boys) all at private school). The Brokes who are ... well ... Note ... if killing off NPC's with SimPE don't murdering the service people ... well you can kill as many nannies as you want ... but leave Fireman Sam alone (I call all firemen 'Sam' ... )
Okay. And don't worry, I don't have SimPE, so I can't kill all the townies with it. I don't think I would if I could, though. I'm not opposed to the idea of townies, just not ones made by someone else (especailly Maxis), and not ones which don't age. I'm probably making this up but I think the University EP might include a thing which lets townies age ... I'm pretty sure I'm making that up, actually. Ho hum.
Although I appreciate you responses extent im afraid I can't be bothered with modding packages, If I could download a specific mod for my problem i'd try it - but I really don't want to sit and learn how to carefully change mathmatical programming to trick the game into forcing a sim to age. I do realise your pointing out that you agree with my comment to an extent - i.e saying the situation is poor n we shouldnt have to mod it. Ahh well - maybe in the Exp pack - I already chose a real sim to be her new partner anyway so it was just for future ref really
No, there are specific mods that you can download and with a few mouseclicks you can make your Townie Sims grow up. You don't have to do anything with the programing, it's already been done for you by computer geniuses like JMP.
I have so felt that teen love gone pain. I know University is going to allow a way around that, and that's great, but untill then, we have love struck sims. lol Here's what I do. I have made a Foster Parent Home. Created one adult sim, and I just usually don't touch them. Then when one of my sims grows up, if they have a close townie friend, I want to grow them up too. I got a teleporter from Simlogical. I put it in the Foster home and use it to get the townie I want onto the lot. Then I use the 'boolprop testingcheats enabled' cheat to move them in, and grow them up. It's worked really well for me so far. Hope this helps. If I need to be more specific about something don't hesitate to ask. Oh, to get to simlogical go to: http://www.simlogical.info/
