Is there a Expansion for.... Is there an expansion pack, Or Hack thingy that will let my sims have a wider variety of Jobs? Same question except one for better community lots, like say a Golf Course? Please tell me if their is an Expansion coming out or already out for this.
ModTheSims2 have some hacked career paths. However mostly they are less than beta mods IMHO as they re-use uniforms from existing careers and have difficulty in implementing new chance card events. I may be wrong but that was the impression I got ... for me it was a "Do Not Touch" alarm signal.
Jobs jOBS jOBS So your saying I shouldn't use it? I'm not desperate for one ,but i'd like to have a artist or interior designer as a new job..... Somthing a bit more intresting ya' know? Even a dogwalker. Or for teens a babysitter.
Wait just 5 more weeks and you'll have some new ones with Sims 2 University. I'm hoping that teacher is one of them. I have several knowledge sims that would be good teachers, and it befuddles my brain why they didn't include it this time!
The Science track has the science teacher, but so far that's the only teacher I know. I suspect that there were a number of things they left out because they wanted to be able to fine tune them to work with specific EPs. In the TSR interview weekend before last the Maxis Producer mentioned that the reason that they did the University EP as the first one is because they needed to have that age group available for things they had planned for later (and they needed a theme other than "Objects added" or repeating the "Livin' Large" for the first EP.) Teacher would be something that would fit with the University theme or with a "child" oriented EP. We'll have to see where they end up putting it. But TS2U will definitely add new careers. I've not seen yet what they are other than them saying there will be new ones.
Four careers will be added: Ecology, Paranormal, Show Business, and Art: "Once a student has managed to graduate, four new careers will be unlocked to them adding even more reward to gameplay ... One, the paranormal career, will obviously focus on the "science" of those things that are not quite of this world. The career reward item actually allows sims to resurrect the dearly departed! It's an interesting twist made even more interesting because an amount of money must be paid to the grim reaper in order to get dead sims back. Pay too little and the resurrected character may just wish he or she was back in the grave. If the reaper complains about your tight wallet, he'll bring the sim back to "life" by making him or her a zombie. While these zombies still live out their lives, they'll walk different, have serious problems with social abilities, and not be able to have children. The other career focus was ecology. This career obviously has a much different focus for sims, but receives a career reward equally as brilliant. Once reaching the rank of rogue biologist, sims will gain access to the mighty cow plant. This disgustingly freakish creation has an amazing animation set to accompany it and will please any gamer that loves the fantastic side the Sims series shows every now and again. Basically, this thing is half-cow and half-plant. When properly fed and taken care of, this friendly flora will allow a player to milk its udders (hanging conveniently off of the underside of its toothy maw) for the Elixir of Life, which grants longer life to sims. Better yet, if you don't feed the plant, it will begin to get hungry and look for a snack, which will be anything unlucky to get close enough. Taking a cue from the denizens of the deep, this cow plant waves his cake shaped tongue around to draw sim people in close enough to gulp down in one bite. They're a rather convenient way to dispose of unwanted guests and pesky neighbors." I've also read that the Artist career track rewards you with a camera, and there's a picture of it on SnootySims. I've got no idea about the Showbusiness one, though.
Nice info zooty - I'm glad show business is back as it was in the 1st and think it really suites the light headed, popularity based sims that I currently put into Sports or slacker. I was thinking a religious career would be nice but I guess it may ruffle feathers if for instance a Christian minister was above a Catholic position etc. Maybe a fake religion "Simology" . I think top career levels should result in special powers - Like police gives u a special burglar alarm that fires a net at intruders, or athletic keeping body above "fat" or makes energy lower slower. Politics lets you pay no house bills. All effects are removed when that sims die though so you can't have an ultimate house oh and ofcourse science lets you change sims genetics (ps dont mind me, im bored at work and tend to run away with myself )
Cool ideas but isn't this what career rewards were supposed to do? Obviously 'speacial powers' to a lesser extent than how you describe. Oh, and if we have an excuse to make career-themed wishlists: Teaching (the teen/elder entry-level would be babysitter, obviously ) Journalism/Writing Music Dance Alternative Medicine Fashion Explorer/Adventurer (the return of) Hacker Agriculture
Say Wat You Want!!!! I hope these things all happen!!!! ok everyone add wat jobs they like for big ist of what the sims customers want!!!! My list: Artist Actor Interior Desighner Relastate Agent Model if have things to add ti kist do!!!! MWHAHAHAH!!!
