    Three Questions

    hey all,
    i have two questions...
    1. How do you tell if your sim is sick?

    2. A more major problem. I'm playing on a lot, where the grocery truck stops on the other side of the road from the street trashcan and mailbox, etc. Same with pizza van. Currently, all i do is use Buy Mode and pluck the basket or pizza box out of their hands. It's quite amusing but a little annoying. i get charged for it anyway. is there any way to let the deliveries cross the road? they just stand on the other side of the road and walk around with the good in their hands, and dont go over the road.

    Any help is appreciated!
    thanks,
    Copter.

    1. You'll get a little pop up box that your sim is sick. The same type of box as promotions and stuff come in. It'll encourage you to keep them laying down to get better. Also they'll start coughing and sometimes throwing up to.

    2. My deliveries always come on the otherside of the road. Not sure why your delivery people won't cross it. Hope someone else can help you with that.

    3. Well you said three questions, but I only see two. So I'll answer how I answer my children. "Because I said so." ;)

I haven't quite figured out the delivery man problem. Pizza delievery usually walks across the road to the nearest entrance. But the grocery guy seems to have a determination to trek all the way to entrance furthest from the truck and if that route is blocked for any reason the silly sim just likes hangs out on his side of the road. Nuisance but not really a problem.

I usually ignore the grocery man cos he alwasy just leaves the basket by the kerb. I send a sim out later to fetch in the groceries.

If your sim is sick not only will you get the pop-up box, but your Sim will start coughing, throwing up, and having his/her comfort and bladder levels lower considerably faster. The coughing when they have the flu is really annyoing to me. I had one last night trying to put the moves on his girlfriend in the hot tub, but he kept jumping out of the tub to cough and hack like he had just smoked a whole case of cigarettes!!! I'm sitting there thinking to myself, "Oh, just die already!! Or go take a cough drop!! Something, because this has gotten old!'

As to your problem with the delivery guy, if his path is blocked, even with the paper, he can't come to the door. You might have to widen your front walk. Do you have flower-beds lining it? That's always a problem for me. I like those little walks with flowerbeds on either side, but I always have to make them 2 squares wide.

thanks everyone for your responses! ;p ill try widening the front path, see if that changes anything. i dont have flowers lining it, but the paper sounds like it may be the problem - i'll check it out. oh and btw, i erased one question in my editing - i thought of it myself, but forgot to edit the topic appropriately :p
    thanks again!

I've had the delivery guy always go to the furthest door until I found that they tend to go to the first door which is placed (as long as that door isn't moved or changed after other doors are placed.) If I place the front door, then a back door, then move the front door a bit, he seems to think that the back door is now the "first" door. Since I realized that I've been very careful to not move the front door after I put in any other doors, or else I move the back door again.

Oh cool stuff, Kat. It never ceases to amaze me how we actually notice some of this arcane stuff ...
